  • Optical Fiber Cable Testing Equipment

    Torontech Group

Optical fiber consists of a core and a cladding layer, selected for total internal reflection due to the difference in the refractive index between the two. In practical fibers, the cladding is usually coated with a layer of acrylate polymer or polyimide. This coating protects the fiber from damage but does not contribute to its optical waveguide properties. Individual coated fibers then have a tough resin buffer layer and/or core tube(s) extruded around them to form the cable core. Several layers of protective sheathing, depending on the application, are added to form the cable. Rigid fiber assemblies sometimes put light-absorbing ("dark") glass between the fibers, to prevent light that leaks out of one fiber from entering another. This reduces cross-talk between the fibers, or reduces flare in fiber bundle imaging applications Optical fibers are very strong, but the strength is drastically reduced by unavoidable microscopic surface flaws inherent in the manufacturing process. The initial fiber strength, as well as its change with time, must be considered relative to the stress imposed on the fiber during handling, cabling, and installation for a given set of environmental conditions. There are three basic scenarios that can lead to strength degradation and failure by inducing flaw growth: dynamic fatigue, static fatigues, and zero-stress aging.

  • Preset Torque Screwdrivers

    Mountz Inc.

Designed for industries where production errors simply aren't acceptable, Mountz preset torque screwdrivers apply the right amount of torque every time. Because they're locked into position by a torque analyzer and feature thrust load bearings to prevent end load interference, preset screwdrivers remove the possibility of operator error. Ideal for repeated production work like line assembly, Mountz preset screwdrivers with ergonomic handles reduce fatigue and protect workers from repetitive motion injuries. You can also protect your delicate electronics assemblies by using ESD-safe Mountz screwdriver models.

  • Tension/compression Force Transducers

WIKA Alexander Wiegand SE & Co. KG

WIKA offers tension/compression force transducers in different designs and versions. They are available in miniature designs, as traditional s-type versions, as transducers with different thread forms or as low-profile force transducers (pancake). Transducers in miniature design are used for small mounting spaces and also for detecting small forces. The s-type with female thread, which is very well suited for this purpose, features a particularly high accuracy and is used in rated load ranges of up to 50 kN. For measuring high forces, tension/compression force transducers in compact size are the first choice. For low-profile force transducers, the force is transmitted via the centrical female thread. They are highly dynamic and possess a high fatigue strength.

  • Torque Arms

    Mountz Inc.

Providing ergonomic solutions for your assembly line workers lessens fatigue, prevents injuries, and boosts productivity. Because your workers can complete jobs more comfortably, they'll be happier, and happy workers are more likely to be engaged and less likely to make mistakes. Mountz torque arms take the weight off a tool operator's shoulders so they can guide the tool instead of lifting it, reducing the likelihood of repetitive motion injuries. Torque arms can even absorb the vibrations from power tools. Mobile and flexible, torque arms find a place even in tight workstations and can be reconfigured to take on new assignments. Mountz torque arms help make factories great places to work.
