  • Guided Assembly | Cable Harness Testers

    Autobuild™ - CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

Our optional, add-on AutoBuild™ software (Item 728) offers Guided Assembly for cables and wire harnesses. Use a supplied probe, or a finger with wrist strap, to touch an unterminated wire and the software shows (and says) exactly where the wire should be connected. As the operator attaches each new wire, AutoBuild checks the entire assembly and provides a clear checklist showing all completed good connections. When using our resistance-capable testers, you may connect diodes and resistors by name and value, check resistance values over the tester's specified range, and test conduction and isolation resistance against specified thresholds. Programmable tones accompany the graphic screen to give clear signals to the operator when good connections are completed or when incorrect connections, resistance violations, or diode insertions are detected. Combine with our Light Director™ option for light-guided assembly.

Connectors soldered in non-preset positions will also appear graphically correct once they are mapped with PinMap (optional software). Sold as a set of two boards, each Micro-MaTch test board may be paired with other CableEye adapter boards to accommodate any combination of connectors.

  • Light-Guided Connector Assembly | Cable & Harness Tester

CableEye Light Director System - CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

Our Light Director™ system (patented) provides a computer-guided technique for assembling connectors used in aerospace, medical, and other high-reliability applications. This system uses light fibers driven by super-bright LED lamps to individually illuminate target cavities in the connector being assembled. When the technician enters the wire code printed on unconnected wires, or touches a wire connected at the other end, the CableEye software turns on the appropriate fiber, thereby causing a bright, flashing light to project from inside the target cavity guiding the technician to the proper insertion point. Correct insertion is confirmed by the elimination of light from that location, whereas insertion into an incorrect location leaves the flashing light visible.

  • CableEye Tester Calibration Verification Board | Cable & Harness Tester

    CB50 - CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

Populated with precision resistors, it allows users to determine empirically whether the tester requires calibration. The CB50 may be used on all CableEye models. The CB50 is intended for periodic verification of tester calibration. To ensure that resistance measurements remain accurate, CAMI recommends yearly calibration. However, depending on environmental conditions and usage, testers may need calibrating more or less frequently. Certain components within models M3U, M3UH, HVX, and HVX-21 (i.e. those capable of measuring resistance) are analog components whose characteristics change slightly over time. This aging is a natural phenomenon common to all electronic components and may cause resistance measurements or gradually deviate from normal. A tester that is out of calibration will give inaccurate results. Some (maybe all) resistance measurements will be incorrect. Consequently, it may Pass what should Fail and, conversely, Fail what should Pass. In other words product yield will be contaminated due to unreliable quality.

    Item 802 (CB-T2) - CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

This multi-purpose CBT2 fixture can be used for operator training, tester system verification, and facility verification.

  • USB Type-C Test Fixture | CB26U | Cable Harness Tester

    CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

A USB Type-C test interface board for CableEye® cable and harness testing systems. Consisting of a daughter board, populated with two USB-C female connectors, it allows users to continuity-check USB Type-C terminated cables using the CableEye tester while seeing the connectors-under-test rendered graphically. The CB26U fits all CableEye models. Configuration A leader in development of PC-based cable and wire harness, continuity, resistance and hipot test systems for over 20 years, CAMI offers the CableEye suite of products complete with accessories – including “connector boards”. The selection of these test fixture boards is constantly growing and is currently numbering over 60 – most of which are populated with ‘families’ of connectors. When pre-populated boards are used, the tester GUI automatically displays a graphic of the connectors under test. Sold as a set of two boards, each CB26U accepts two USB Type-C connectors. In addition to the latest CableEye software, it requires the CB26 small-frame motherboard (Item 756) for operation, and plugs into one of two available slots – two USB-C-connectors can be tested simultaneously. The CB26 (with CB26U) attaches to the tester like a regular connector board. Contact sales@camiresearch.com or +1 (978) 266-2655 for a quote.

  • CableEye 4-Wire Calibration Verification Board | Cable & Harness Testers

    CB52 - CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

The CB52 is intended for periodic calibration verification of the Kelvin 4-wire resistance measurement module – an optional, add-on module that may be purchased with any new hipot system, or added to an existing high voltage tester as an upgrade. To ensure that 4-wire resistance measurements remain accurate, CAMI recommends running the verification check every quarter. A 4-wire measurement module that is out of calibration will give inaccurate results. Some (maybe all) resistance measurements will be incorrect. Consequently, it may Pass what should Fail and, conversely, Fail what should Pass. In other words product yield will be contaminated due to unreliable measurements.

  • 2100Vdc Screw Terminal Connector Board | Cable & Harness Tester

  • 4-Wire Resistance Measurement | Continuity & HiPot Cable & Wire Harness Testers

    CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

An add-on option for the CableEye HVX high voltage cable tester series that permits expanded testing for contact and wire resistance as low as 1 mΩ. After checking for opens, shorts, miswires, and resistance limits, the 4-wire Kelvin measurement applies a user-selectable test current from 10 mA to 1 A to determine connection resistance within 1 mΩ. The resistance profile of a model cable may be stored and used as a basis of comparison during later testing to reveal cold solder joints, faulty crimps, recessed pins, pin contact contamination, improper wire gauge, and stress-extruded wire. This option may be purchased with any new HVX tester, or added as an upgrade to any of your existing HVX testers.

  • Pin-Mapping for Custom Connectors, Test Fixtures, UUTs | Cable & Harness Testers

    PinMap™ - CAMI Research Inc. (CableEye®)

Check out this fast and super-easy pin-mapping process enabled by our optional CableEye® PinMap™ software. Map as fast as you can move the probe from one pin to the next. Use on your custom connectors, test fixtures, specially-built connector panels, or pigtail adapters to your CableEye tester. This software assigns test point numbers to connector types and applies standard pin designations to the pin numbers. For each custom connector, first choose a connector graphic from our large library to match your connector. Then touch the tester probe to the connector pins one-by-one to automatically detect and assign a test point to each pin. A synthetic voice reads probed pins as you touch them so you don’t need to take your eyes off the connector you’re probing. Finally, enter pin labels of your choice if you wish to override the standard designations.
