The RM9-THz radiometer is a sensor for measuring the power of very low level CW or quasi CW lasers and light sources. This sensor was specially designed for work in the terahertz range. The RM9-THz uses a pyroelectric sensor and lock-in amplifier with an 18Hz chopper (not included, use RMC1 or other chopper). The power range of the RM9-THz is from 100nW to 100mW, it has an 8mm aperture and covers the spectral range from 0.7THz to 10THz.

A square wave excitation of 5 kHz is furnished to the transducer and the solid state integrated circuit amplifier and demodulator converts the transducer signal to an analog dc output. Zero and Span adjustments are made through access holes in the case.

The result is an improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio to allow membrane hydrophones based on 9 m to measure harmonic components in excess of 120 MHz The UT model of Membrane Hydrophone is the product of choice for broad bandwidth measurements where water quality cannot be guaranteed. They can be used on its own or in conjunction with Precision Acoustics'' Signal Amplifier to reduce noise and add a limited amount of gain over a wide bandwidth. For additional gain the membrane hydrophone can also be used with the Hydrophone Booster Amplifier to add 28dB of gain.
