Scalar Feed Horn Antennas
Scalar feed horns are offered as both standard and custom build models with either a circular or rectangular waveguide interface. While scalar feed horns with a rectangular waveguide interface can only support linear polarization, models with a circular waveguide interface can support various polarization types including horizontal, vertical, left-handed circular, and right-handed circular polarization for broader applications. The standard models operate across the full waveguide band and offer 17 dBi nominal gain, 25 degrees half power beamwidth and a -28 dB side lobe level at center frequency. The below standard offering covers the frequency range of 8.5 to 140 GHz. However, other frequencies or gain values are also available.

Antennas
Introducing the new RFSPACE Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and log periodic antennas. These antennas cover different frequency bands from 200 - 12000 MHz. Each antenna is hand tuned and tested to cover the specified frequency band continuously. All antennas except the UWB-4 and TSA900 come with a birth certificate showing the return loss plot of the antenna. The lower cost antennas are not plotted to keep price low.

The horns are individually calibrated and can be used for either receiving or transmitting applications. Contrary to conventional Vivaldi antennas limited to operating only at higher frequencies, the dbDIRECT Broadband Antenna design is optimized to operate at a frequency as low as 700 MHz up to 6 GHz. This lightweight and compact antenna design provides excellent matching over a broad frequency range.The antenna is designed to be placed in a DVTEST's portable anechoic chamber such as the dbSAFE enclosures for OTA (Over the Air) testing of DUTs. The antennas can be mounted in fixed positions to facilitate repeatable results. When used in conjunction with a rotary positioning mechanism, customers are able to detect the highest point of power sensitivity for enhanced accuracy and repeatability in measurements. In this configuration, both the antennas and DUTs can be positioned in order to facilitate the measurement.

The SixPak has two components: a relay matrix and a control box, there are several options for the controller.The relay matrix allows the selection of any 6 antennas by 2 radios or feedlines. Its lockout circuitry prevents both radios from selecting the same antenna. (The 6x1 type of SixPak is now replaced by our RatPak remote 6 way antenna switch.)The usual set-up has one SixPak dual rotary control box, which is manually operated from the radios positions. The control box for the 6x2 contains two rotary switches and 12 LEDs, so the operator can see which antennas are selected.

PLD Systems
Pulsed Laser Deposition
Is a versatile thin film deposition technique. A pulsed laser (~20 ns pulse width) rapidly evaporates a target material forming a thin film that retains target composition. This unique ability of stoichiometeric transfer of target composition into the film was realized first by the research team led by Dr. Venkatesan at Bell Communications Research, NJ, USA, nearly 30 years ago while depositing high temperature superconducting (YBa2Cu3O7) thin films. Since then, PLD has become the preferred deposition technique where ever thin films of complex material compositions are considered. Another unique feature of PLD is its ability for rapid prototyping of materials. The energy source (pulsed laser) being outside the deposition chamber, facilitates a large dynamic range of operating pressures (10-10 Torr to 500 Torr) during material synthesis. By controlling the deposition pressure and substrate temperature and using relatively small target sizes, a variety of atomically controlled nano-structures and interfaces can be prepared with unique functionalities.

Sector Antennas
A sector antenna is a type of directional microwave antenna with a sector-shaped radiation pattern. The word "sector" is used in the geometric sense; some portion of the circumference of a circle measured in degrees of arc. 60°, 90° and 120° designs are typical, often with a few degrees 'extra' to ensure overlap and mounted in multiples when wider or full-circle coverage is required (see photos below). The largest use of these antennas is as antennas for cell phone base-station sites. They are also used for other types of mobile communications, for example in Wi-Fi networks.
