LilyPad Light Sensor

The LilyPad Light Sensor is a sewable breakout board with an ALS-PT19 light sensor built in and ready to use right away. Each sensor outputs voltage between 0V and 3.3V depending on the level of ambient light shining on it. As more light is applied on the sensor, more current will flow from the board through the signal tab to the microcontroller you connect the sensor to. If the sensor receives no light, no current will flow through it. In a typical indoor lighting situation, the sensor will output around 1 to 2V. Adding this board into your next e-textile or wearable project will really open up the possibilities by being able to incorporate light level sensing capabilities.

The integrated infrared module senses the thermal radiation emitted by objects on a 16 x 4 array of sensing points, for measuring the temperature distribution across a surface. The EM-6873 Loop Sensor Antenna uses passive circuits to transform magnetic field components between 20 Hz – 100 kHz to an equivalent open circuit two-terminal voltage on the receiving instrument. Use of the conversion Factor Chart, supplied with each antenna, will yield the strength of the magnetic induction field referenced to a uniform field. The loop is electrostatically shielded and therefore is sensitive only to the magnetic component (B-field) of the electromagnetic fields.

Ophir Fast Photodiode Detectors are designed to convert optical signals into electrical signals which are then measured with third-party instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. Accessories are available to connect to IS6 integrating spheres or fiber optic cables. Attenuating filter accessories are also available to increase their dynamic range. Different models offer silicon, UV enhanced silicon and InGaAs PIN photodiodes, covering a combined spectral range of 193 nm to 1700 nm. Rise times range from 25 picoseconds to 3 nanoseconds. The fast rise times are achieved by an internal reverse bias voltage circuit. Power is supplied by internal batteries and/or an external power supply depending on the model. Detectors should be connected to a 50Ω impedance in order to maintain their nominal rise times. They can be connected to higher impedance loads, but this will result in a significant increase in the rise time. If higher output voltage is required, it is recommended to connect the detector to a trans-impedance amplifier with an Input impedance of 50Ω
