Structural Test ICP® Accelerometers

Conventional structural test data systems use few to several hundred sensors. Cables bundles can be complex and confusing resulting in setup errors. Sensors with TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) allow for an internal sensor digital chip to store sensor information. This information contains descriptive identifiers that when connected to a TEDS compatible signal conditioner or data system, reads the descriptive information and automatically aligns the data system. Human error is minimized, reducing time consuming data verification or re-test. The Series 333 ICP® accelerometers, and their accessories, are designed to address the needs of multi-point modal and structural test measurement applications. This equipment was developed in conjunction with the world renowned University of Cincinnati Structural Dynamics Research Laboratory and proven in real-world testing situations. The PCB 333 Series accelerometers delivers rapid system setup, reduces human documentation errors, maintains calibration data of each sensor, allows for “Plug-and-Play” installation, reduces overall test time lowering project test costs.

ACM4509 is an automatic calibration module that can be used with all CMT Vector Network Analyzers operating in frequency range up to 9 GHz. It is a fully automatic USB-controlled and powered electronic calibration module. Minimizing the number of steps required by technicians reduces the risk of human error and expedites the calibration process. Automating the calibration routine also reduces wear and tear on the analyzer and RF cables. To perform full four-port calibration, each end of the ACM need only be connected to the analyzer once, as opposed to 18 connections with a traditional calibration. The ACM also contains a factory characterized 20dB in-line attenuator which acts as a simulated device under test (DUT). The confidence check feature loads the factory stored DUT into memory so proper calibration can be verified.

They are capable of testing six transformer windings with a single cable connection, as well as three-phase automatic transformer demagnetization. It has the option of the automated test mode, where the instrument operates the tap changer without operator input (minimizing the risk of human error) and records winding resistance results based on pre-selected stabilization criteria.The unique DVtest method of tap changer analysis enables checking the moving contacts of on-load tap changers during the transition, measuring the transition time, detecting open circuits, and many other types of faults. It is performed with 0.1 ms sampling rate, together with the measurement of tap changer motor current which detects motor and mechanical issues. A special proprietary algorithm is used for testing tap changers connected through a built-in series (booster) transformer.
