Schottky diodes are majority carrier diodes formed by plating a layer of metal on a layer of doped semiconductor, which forms a rectifying junction. The type of metal and the type of dopant in the semiconductor determines the diode’s barrier height, which is a measure of the amount of energy required to force the diode into forward conduction. Columbia's SI-701 Series of Inclinometers are electronic tilt sensors based on Force Balance Accelerometer technology. They produce high level low impedance output proportional to the sine of the tilt angle. Model SI-701B is a low cost general purpose sensor that can be up-graded with the addition of the Columbia "HP" torquer system (SI-701BI) for greater accuracy and ruggedness. A bi-axial version of both units (SI-702B) is also available. The Model SI-701BI is designed with an output circuit made for 4-20mA data transmission systems for industrial applications. The model SI-701FND is a fluid dampened premium performance inclinometer designed to produce accurate tilt data in extreme shock and vibration environments. The latest addition in the line is Model SI-701WPBI, a waterproof (to 150 feet) inclinometer which operates from a +15 volt supply with 4-20mA output. A single power supply powers both the sensor and the 4-20mA line driver.

Air Amplifiers
Nex Flow® Air amplifiers are compact, low cost air flow “movers” that are virtually maintenance free. Applications include the venting of fumes and smoke, conveying of low weight materials, and entraining a high volume of air to cool, blow off, and dry. Air Amplfiiers use the “Coanda effect” to draw in the surrounding atmosphereic air while consuming only aminimal amount of compressed air. These products can amplify airflow up to 17 times (depending on the size) resulting in dramatcally reduced levels of noise. Air Amplifiers (also called Air Movers) draw in atmospheric air from the back of the unit as well as having downstream entrainment further amplifying the flow. They are used for cooling and venting. While the force produced for blow off decreases as the amplifier outlet diameter increases, these Air Movers are ideal for cooling because of the high velocity outlet fow and and are much more effective for cooling compaed to air nozzles.

Tackiness Tester

For the measurement of tackiness (instantaneous adhesive strength) of various pastes and adhesive tapes, it is possible to quantitatively evaluate the data, which until now had large errors due to individual differences. First, press the measuring probe, which is controlled (approach speed, pressure force, pressure time, separation speed) against the sample, and measure the adhesive force in the process of separating. Measured data can be processed by a computer. With double temperature control (patented), the sample piece is preheated from the back side with a hot plate and the heated probe penetrates the measurement surface, making it possible to keep the set temperature and the temperature of the test surface to be evaluated constant. Since the pressurization time can be as short as 10msec, it is possible to measure the tackiness caused by momentary contact.
