Turbine Logging System
This Turbine Overspeed Trip Logging system has been developed to check the operation of steam turbines. The speed of the turbine is monitored using an optical sensor, the logging system can be mounted up to 30 meters from the sensor. This allows the overspeed trip speed to be monitored and recorded with greater safety that using a simple tachometer. The results are logged together with time and date stamp so that it can be demonstrated that the test has been carried out.

Portable optical DO meter
ARO-PR
The Portable optical DO meter makes use of the fast-response optical DO sensor RINKO, maintaining its high-speed response performance (99% response < 7sec). The meter probe is equipped with a temperature sensor close to the sensing foil, and the measurements are made by simply inserting the probe into a DO sample bottle (the calibration is carried out using the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) certified traceable gases standards). Differently from galvanic electrode sensors, the instrument does not require water sample stirring or fixing reagents, since there is no oxygen consumption. Thus, the required time to estimate dissolved oxygen is considerably reduced. The display unit shows the output instantaneously, and you can check the measured values in real time.

The SparkFun Photodetector Breakout is an updated version of the SparkFun Particle Sensor Breakout includes the MAX30101, a highly sensitive optical sensor and successor to the MAX30105 and MAX30102. The MAX30101 Breakout utilizes a photon detector to measure the amount of returning light that is reflected back from the LEDs. This is useful for various applications like particle (i.e. smoke) detection, proximity measurements, and even photoplethysmography. The LIDAR-Lite v4 Qwiic from GARMIN is a high-performance, wireless optical distance measurement sensor that doesn't require any soldering to get started. This is the ideal solution for drone, robot, IoT, or unmanned vehicle operations when space is tight and power is limited. This sensor has up to a 10 meter range, 1cm resolution, and requires 85mA during data acquisition. The user can read and write to the LIDAR-Lite v4 using the I2C protocol; this is where the addition of the SparkFun Qwiic system really shines. The LIDAR sensor requires 5V to operate but runs on 3V3 logic. Absolute Optical Encoder Kit Version

The A2K absolute encoder is a non-contacting optical rotary position sensor which reports the shaft angle within a 360 deg. range. As opposed to incremental encoders, the A2K reports the absolute position rather than the change in position. When powered up, it does not require a home cycle, even if the shaft was rotated while the power was off.
