Axial turbine flow meters are designed with wear resistant internal components to provide trouble-free operation and a long service life. Fluid entering the flow meter is first conditioned by the inlet flow straightener which reduces turbulence in the fluid. The moving fluid causes the rotor to spin at a speed that is proportional to its flow rate. As the turbine blades on the rotor pass through the magnetic field of the pickup, an electronic pulse is generated.

An Air Flow Meter measures air velocity as well as air pressure. Depending on the type of application, the Air Flow Meter is made as a hot-wire Air Flow Meter, a vane Air Flow Meter, a cup anemometer, a Pitot tube air flow meter or a pocket weather flow meter, all of which can measure air velocity as well as air pressure. Some can even detect the wind direction. The most common unit of measurement for air flow is m/s.Air Flow Meters are basically mass flow meters, as they determine the air velocity and air pressure by measuring the mass flow of a medium, which is air in this case.The results of measuring the air velocity can be stored in the Air Flow Meter's memory, depending on the model. The Model N300 is a microprocessor-controlled analyzer based on the Beer-Lambert law that is used to determine the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) in a sample gas.The N300 uses Gas Filter Correlation (GFC) to overcome the interfering effects of various other gases (such as water vapor) that also absorb Infrared (IR) light. The analyzer passes the IR light beam through a spinning wheel made up of two separate chambers: one containing a high concentration of CO known as the reference, and the other containing a neutral gas known as the measure. The concentration of CO in the sample chamber is computed by taking the ratio of the instantaneous measure and reference values and then compensating the ratio for sample temperature and pressure.
