Scanning Electrochemical Systems
The VersaSCAN is a single platform capable of providing spatial resolution to both electrochemical and materials-based measurements. Each VersaSCAN is based on a common high-resolution, long-travel, closed-loop positioning system mounted to a vibration-resistant optical base. Different auxiliary pieces are mounted to the positioning system. These ancillary pieces (e.g., an electrometer, piezo vibration unit, or a laser sensor) provide functionality to the positioning system for different scanning probe experiments. VersaSTAT potentiostats and Signal Recovery Lock-in Amplifiers are integrated via ethernet control to make accurate measurements of these small signals.

The DZ-100 inherits the same CRITERION™ technology—a differential pressure detection system for laminar viscous flow ranges—used on HORIBA STEC’s MFC, the D500. This innovative technology controls the mass flow of various gases with high precision. As with the D500, the user-configurable DZ-100 supports multi-range and multi-gas applications. The compact design of the MFC reduces the internal volume of the internal gas flow path, and the optimized control algorithm improves response characteristics. Sonar
Piezo elements are used in military and commercial sonar systems for position finding activities. Location of surface and subsurface vessels, depth measurement, surveying, fish location, and communication are several of the more common sonar applications. Piezoelectric ceramic materials have high bandwidth and can quickly respond by applying high force at low power levels. These materials are generally unaffected by environmental factors such as humidity and temperature. CTS materials can be formed to customer specifications and are available in a wide range of geometries with dimensions up to 150 mm or thicknesses less than 100 microns. Low Voltage DC / Battery Powered High Voltage Amplifiers
WMA-005 And WMA-005LF
The Falco Systems WMA-005 is a high voltage amplifier that runs from an 24 - 30V DC power supply and can be battery powered if required, e.g. for use in a Faraday cage. Its internal high voltage generator is inductor-free and hence does not spread magnetic interference in sensitive experimental setups. The output noise is impressively low at 3mVrms. For extremely low noise applications where bandwidth is not an issue, a dedicated WMA-005LF version is available that contains an output low pass filter capacitor which reduces the bandwidth to 50Hz, but makes the noise drop to below 0.1mVrms. This bandwidth-limited amplifier is ideal for MEMS or piezo positioning with manual voltage adjustment.

Thorlabs’ motion control products are separated into manual and motorized linear and rotation stages, multiaxis platforms, actuators, and controllers. The manual and motorized stages can frequently be configured into 1-, 2-, or 3-axis solutions. Since many of the stages are available in either manual or motorized versions, creating a custom system is easy. For nanopositioning applications like waveguide and fiber coupling, our line of multiaxis flexure stages are ideal. Both the motorized stages and the multiaxis platforms are supported by a complete line of controllers for the various motors and piezoelectric actuators.
