PXI/PXIe LVDT/RVDT/Resolver Simulator Module
43-670-XYZ-AABBCC
-
The 41/43-670 range is ideal for the simulation of variable differential transformers (VDT), both linear (LVDT) and rotary (RVDT) types, as well as resolvers. Available with up to four banks, each bank is capable of simulating the output of a single 5 or 6-wire VDT or resolver, or dual 4-wire utilizing a shared excitation signal. This allows the module to simulate up to 4 channels of 5 or 6-wire or 8 channels of 4-wire.

43-670-301-AABBCC
-
The 41-670-301 (PXI) and 43-670-301 (PXIe) are ideal for the simulation of variable differential transformers (VDT), both linear (LVDT) and rotary (RVDT) types, as well as resolvers with high speed simulation up to 130krpm rotation. They have four banks, each capable of simulating the output of a single 5 or 6-wire VDT or resolver, or dual 4-wire utilizing a shared excitation signal. This allows the module to simulate up to 4 channels of 5 or 6-wire or 8 channels of 4-wire.

The PXI Displacement Input Module supports 4-, 5-, and 6-wire AC linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) and AC rotary variable differential transformer (RVDT) measurements. The module simultaneously samples each analog input and sets the excitation frequency and voltage for each channel independently. You can set different timing, triggering, and sampling modes for each channel independently. Diagnostic features include self-calibration, overcurrent detection, and open coil detection. The PXI Displacement Input Module includes the NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility that simplify configuration and measurements. NI-DAQmx supports NI programming environments as well as Python, ANSI C, C#.NET, and MathWorks MATLABĀ® software.

Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) and Rotary Variable Differential Transformer (RVDT) are transformer-type voltage/current transducers that convert a linear/rotary movement of a core/shaft to a multi-wire differential AC electrical signal. Both deliver signals linearly proportional to the position of a shaft (magnetic induction core). An LVDT/RVDT simulator is used to convert digital positional commands to corresponding AC signals.

Linear variable differential transformers (LVDT) are electrical transformer sensors to measure linear displacement. Driven by an AC excitation source, the LVDT generates a pair of AC output signals modulated according to the core's mechanical position (displacement). LVDTs have been widely used in applications such as power turbines, hydraulics, automation, aircraft, satellites, nuclear reactors, and many others. These transducers have low hysteresis and excellent repeatability.
