Common Mode Chokes
Common Mode Chokes, as the name implies, are designed to attenuate and filter common mode noise within an electric system. The key parameters for a common mode choke are the current rating (to ensure the part does not overheat within the application), the impedance versus frequency (to ensure it is optimized to attenuate the desired frequencies), the isolation voltage (to ensure it meets board level requirements between the line and neutral phases) and safety isolation (to ensure it meets the safety requirements of the end-application). It is important to remember that common mode chokes cannot saturate in the application (under normal use) as they are designed to ensure that the line and return currents are balanced.

The AMC730 is based around the Cavium OCTEON CN63xx processor which has been specifically designed to intelligently process Ethernet packets at line rate.The processor can be loaded via the PCIe/SRIO interface or via an optional flash memory. The number of processor cores, speed grade, and amount of DDR3 memory is customizable based on customer needs. Pulsar Microwave manufactures a line of single and dual directional couplers specifically designed for high power operation. There are various narrow and broadband designs from 0.1 MHz to 10 GHz. These directional couplers come in standard values of 30, 35, 40 and 50 dB with coupling tolerance of +/- 1 dB.The high power directional couplers have low insertion loss. Coupling flatness is maintained at +/- 1 dB or less among models. Most units hold a mainline VSWR of 1.2:1 or better throughout the operating frequency range. Pulsar Microwave has designs up to 2.5 kW input power. Typical directivity is 20 dB or more.Standard outlines are available with SMA or N type female connectors.
