Our Hall-Effect and Magnetoresistive Sensors sense magnetic targets and work with our magnetic pulsers (Discs, Wraps, and Wheels). Our proximity sensors sense ferrous metal targets, including bolt-heads, screws, gearteeth and keyslots. Our speed sensors monitor shaft speed of equipment and output data as PNP, NPN, or 4-20 mA signals. The sensor data can be used by facilities to monitor machinery and safeguard equipment. Magnetic Sensors

Magnetic proximity sensors are characterized by the possibility of large switching distances, available from sensors with small dimensions. They detect magnetic objects (usually permanent magnets), which are used to trigger the switching process. As the magnetic fields are able to pass through many non-magnetic materials, the switching process can also be triggered without the need for direct exposure to the target object. By using magnetic conductors (e.g., iron), the magnetic field can be transmitted over greater distances so that, for example, the signal can be carried away from high temperature areas.

Lake Shore germanium resistance temperature sensors are recognized as “Secondary Standard Thermometers” and have been employed in the measurement of temperature from 0.05 K to 30 K for nearly 40 years. Germanium sensors have a useful temperature range of about two orders of magnitude. The exact range depends upon the doping of the germanium element. Cryogenic temperature sensors with ranges from below 0.05 K to 100 K are available. Between 100 K and 300 K, dR/dT changes sign, and dR/dT above 100 K is very small for all models. Sensor resistance varies from several ohms at its upper useful temperature to several tens of kilohms at its lower temperature.
