The PXIe-1487 combines the Maxim Integrated Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link™ (GMSL™) interface with the Xilinx FPGA for high-throughput vision and imaging applications. This module provides a high-speed digital interface for using and testing modern advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous drive (AD) camera sensors and electronic control units (ECUs). Additionally, the PXIe-1487 makes use of a combination of GMSL™ serializers and deserializers with a Xilinx FPGA to provide a high-throughput and customizable GMSL™ interface on PXI. The included FlexRIO driver, with LabVIEW FPGA examples, provides access and control for power-over-coax, I²C back-channel communication, and general-purpose input/output (GPIO) communication on the GMSL™ channels. Tyre Pressure and Infra-Red Sensors
The system consists of a powered pressure and temperature sensor with transmitter fitted to a wheel rim. This sends pressure and temperature data over an RF link to a compact receiver on the car. Sampling rates increase automatically when either a change in pressure is detected or when wheel inertia is detected. The system stops transmitting below a threshold pressure to preserve battery life. The receiver sends data to the car control via CAN.

For maximum compatibility with a wide range of peripherals, the board supports all standard RS-232 modem control signals. The serial ports utilize a 16C954 UART with 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs that enables data rates to 921.6K bps for reliable high-speed communications in data intensive applications. This high-performance UART includes 9-bit framing support and is fully software compatible with legacy 16550 applications. In addition, the board derives a 62.5 MHz clock from the PCI Express link. The Optical DSC450 enables the user to measure glass transitions and melting behaviour of a wide range of substances whilst accurately controlling temperature from -196 °C to 450 °C. The atmosphere of the stage can also be purged with gas as required by the user. A new feature which will increase the characterisation capabilities of the DSC system is to combine it with imaging capability. The new LINK Digital Imaging module enables additional information to be obtained by correlating optical changes such as colour with temperature. The new TASC analysis tool takes this further. TASC (Thermal Analysis by Surface Characterisation) is a new image analysis capability which enables structural changes in samples to be tracked and quantified optically. It has the unique ability to measure local transition temperatures allowing different points on a sample to be identified. The new DSC system is great tool to use in research and quality control to measure quantitative values for glass transitions, melting peaks and sample purity and, when combined with TASC, even sample homogeneity.
