This High Performance Video MUX is designed for the switching of RF signals in 75Ω systems at frequencies up to 1GHz. It is ideal for 75Ω monitoring applications that require a multiplexer to select one channel to be routed to measuring equipment. The automatic connection of unused channels into 75Ω terminations helps maintain signal integrity and minimizes the possibility of introducing unwanted responses. The common connection is also automatically terminated into 75 Ohm when unused. Video Distribution Amplifiers (sometimes called a video splitter – not to be confused with a video split screen controller such as our PXD510E split screen controller) are typically used for connecting a camera or other video source to several monitors that do not have “looping” inputs. In this situation, each monitor has a permanent 75 ohm termination. With two non-looping monitors connected together, the line would be double loaded and result in a dim picture on each monitor.
