These waveguide bandwidth integrated coupler/mixers are designed to allow phase locking or signal monitoring of compact millimeter wave systems. RF inputs and outputs are on opposite sides of a thin wafer to obtain minimum insertion length. These devices use silicon Schottky barrier beam-lead diodes on a rugged stripline circuit. Nominal coupling value is 10 dB. For coupling values greater than 10 dB, non-directional coupler models are available (consult factory).

The AD8452 combines a precision analog front-end controller and switch mode power supply (SMPS), pulse-width modulator (PWM) driver into a single silicon platform for high volume battery testing and formation manufacturing. A precision instrumentation amplifier (in-amp) measures the battery charge/discharge current to better than ±0.1% accuracy, while an equally accurate difference amplifier measures the battery voltage. Internal laser trimmed resistor networks establish the in-amp and difference amplifier gains (66 V/V and 0.4 V/V, respectively), and stabilize the AD8452 performance across the rated operating temperature range.

The channels are composed of CMOS transistors, using typical high input impedance CMOS gates. The integrators generate charge dependent voltages using a range of selectable capacitance values that accommodate a broad range of input charge values. The integrators are followed by single-ended input to differential output voltage amplifiers where offset and low frequency noise voltages are subtracted from the input voltages.

Teledyne RF & Micrrowave's Six Channel 2 - 18 GHz (RF and LO) downconverter operates with an IF of ~960 MHz, providing 25 dB of RF-IF gain, and bandwidth of ~500 MHz. This downconverter operates on a single LO at -6 dBm which is amplified, split, then again amplified to each of the 6 channels. Integrated into each channel is a range extension switch, controlled by a TTL input and adding 20 dB attenuation. Noise figure is ~ 13.5 dB and output IP3 is ~+25 dBm.
