Hipot Tests
The hipot test (high potential test) or dielectric withstand test, is used to determine the insulation and dielectric strength. It is carried out on modules, devices and systems of protection class I + II. In this test, the insulation of the test object is subjected to greater stress by the high voltage than in normal operation. It is determined whether the insulation of all current-carrying conductors, as well as the safety distance to the enclosure, is sufficient and complies with the legal requirements under normal operating conditions.
