The PCI-1553-LXE/DXE 1,2 uses UTMC’s Sµmmit LXE/DXE version, UT69151DXE-GPC 1553 communication device as its 1553 bus controller, or remote terminal, or monitor terminal. A single controller has two redundant channels. The 1553board can have 1 or 2 communication channels. The controller accesses 64Kx16 word of external memory and has internal transceivers for both channel A and B. The 3U PCI board has on-board transformers for both channels and both controllers.
