The ALPHI MPCI-1553-DDC uses the BU-65864 communication device as its 1553 bus controller, or remote terminal, or monitor terminal. A single controller has two redundant channels and built in transceivers. The controller has internal transceivers for both channel A and B. The Mini PCI board has on-board transformers for both channels. The board format is a Mini PCI boardlayout.

The CPCI-AD16 module provides a 3U high performance data acquisition subsystem. The Local DSP can be used to simply move data samples to the CPCI bus or can provide processing functions such as limit checking, FFT’s, digitalfiltering, etc. Application software can be downloaded to the DSP via the CPCI interface. Instrumentation amplifiers provide over-voltage protection, gain and filtering on a per channel basis. Internal scan and trigger clocks are derived from either the CPCI bus clock or the local DSP clock. Dual 32 bit timers can programmed to pace the acquisition process. The CPCI-AD16 can also accept external scan and trigger signals from a front panel connector.

The board consists of private SDRAM and Flash memory attached to the 300 MHz, TMS320C6713B floating point DSP. An FPGA provides the timing and control. Peripherals include a serial port and connectors for IP mezzanine boards. Flash memory is available for downloading programs into a nonvolatile memory. A PCIbus connector provides the interface to the host computer.
