Excalibur Systems, Inc.

Established in 1986, Excalibur Systems started with an idea, with a desire to create and achieve. We designed the first ARINC-429 interface card for the personal computer and we have not looked back since. Today, Excalibur manufactures hundreds of products for the Avionics Industry. From connectors, cables, couplers and cards to sophisticated complete systems, our commitment to customer service is legendary. Excalibur has received numerous awards, accolades and commendations for our products and more importantly for our service and support. Excalibur builds and maintains long-standing relationships with our customers, which we refer to as our "partners".

The card complies with the PCI Express support one lane 2.5 Gbps PCI Express. The card’s small size and suitability for Mini Card compatible computers make it a complete solution for developing, testing, integrating ARINC 429 and ARINC 717 interfaces and for performing system simulation both in the lab and in the field.

  • Protocol Converter

    MACC2 - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

When designing or upgrading avionics systems we are often faced with the task of integrating components that were not originally designed to work together.A control computer that communicates using RS-232 may need to control component that expects MIL-STD-1553 messages or an INS may put out ARINC-429 labels, which are needed by Multi function Display designed around RS-422.Faced with problems like these, integrators must choose between two poor options. They must either give up on one of the units in favor of another unit that may be less suitable but uses the appropriate communications spec; or they must add a computer system – often PC104 – which can translate from one unit to the other. These computers are generally large, heavy, hot, and require substantial power.

  • MIL-STD-1553 Interface Board

    EXC-4000VME/MCH-x / EXC-4000VXI/MCH-x - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The EXC-1553VME/MCH and EXC-1553VXI/MCH cards are based on a MIL-STD 1553 certified "Summit" chip used in many flight critical systems. Each dual redundant channel supports both MIL-STD-1553A and MIL-STD 1553B protocols. Up to eight channels may be programmed individually to operate as a Bus Controller, Remote Terminal, Bus Monitor, or Remote Terminal / Concurrent Bus Monitor. The 32 K x 16 of RAM allotted to each channel for the storage of data and control parameters may be updated in real time.

    EXC-1394PCI - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The EXC-1394PCI card for the PCI bus is an intelligent test and simulation card for interfacing to an IEEE-1394 data bus. It implements a 1394b PHY layer, operating at 100, 200, or 400 Mbps.

  • Adapter

    EXC-1553UNET/Px(S) - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The EXC-1553UNET/Px is an intelligent, single - or - dual channel, MIL-STD-1553 adapter. Its small size and ability to interface through USB or Ethernet interfaces make it a complete solution for developing, testing and performing system simulation of the MIL-STD-1553 bus, both in the lab and in the field. The EXC-1553UNET/Px shares its API with the entire Px family so that applications currently running on PCI, PCIe, ExCARD or PCMCIA boards will run without change on this device.Multiple units can operate via USB ports on the same computer. In addition, multiple units can operate on the same network, by programming each one with a unique IP address, and can be accessed from any computer on the network.

  • Module for VME & VXI Systems

    EXC-4000VME/xx / EXC-4000VXI/xx - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The EXC-4000VME/xx and EXC-4000VXI/xx cards for VME & VXI systems supports up to eight dual redundant MIL-STD-1760 channels using the M4K1553Px(S)-1760 module and is compatible with all common variations of MIL-STD-1760 (A, B). Each channel can operate simultaneously as a Bus Controller and up to 32 Remote Terminals and as a Triggerable Monitor. In addition, Checksum, SRQ bit and Header Words are supported on each channel.

  • PCI Express Card

    EXC-4000PCIe/xx - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The EXC-4000PCIe/xx card for the PCI Express bus supports up to four dual redundant 1553 channels using the M4K1553Px(S) module and is compatible with all common variations of MIL-STD-1553 (A, B).

  • MMSI Module
