Humidity Indicators
-
A humidity detector, also referred to as a humidity meter or humidity gauge, is a device with a humidity sensor that measures the relative humidity in the air. PCE Instruments offers a number of humidity detector products including handheld humidity detector, data recording or data logging humidity detector, and combination or multifunction humidity detector devices that also measure parameters such as room or ambient temperature and atmospheric or barometric pressure. A humidity detector can measure relative humidity (RH) as a percentage (%) from 0 to 100 % RH, depending on the humidity measurement range of the specific model.Humidity is a key factor in everything from library and museum archival to agriculture, construction, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR). A relative humidity meter also is helpful in evaluating workers' heat stress risk on production floors and job sites. In addition, humidity plays an important role in the residential sector. If the humidity is too high in a private household, mold can grow. Mold creates a health hazard for anyone breathing the air in the home.

Roughness Testers
-
Roughness is an important parameter when trying to find out whether a surface is suitable for a certain purpose. Rough surfaces often wear out more quickly than smoother surfaces. Rougher surfaces are normally more vulnerable to corrosion and cracks, but they can also aid in adhesion. A roughness tester is used to quickly and accurately determine the surface texture or surface roughness of a material. A roughness tester shows the measured roughness depth (Rz) as well as the mean roughness value (Ra) in micrometers or microns (µm). Measuring the roughness of a surface involves applying a roughness filter. Different international standards and surface texture or surface finish specifications recommend the use of different roughness filters. For example, a Gaussian filter often is recommended in ISO standards.

A colorimeter is a valuable color-measuring tool used by manufacturers, printers, painters, designers and quality control professionals. Colorimeters ensure accurate, consistent color, eliminating issues related to color subjectivity. Depending on the model, PCE Instruments' colorimeter products can measure colors in different color spaces such as CIE LAB, XYZ, LCh, RGB and LUV (for liquids and solids / that is why you can choose the media via filter selection). The most popular colorimeter models in our range of color-reading products are the PCE-CSM series colorimeters. Aside from being easy to use and economical, the PCE-CSM series colorimeters offer high degrees of accuracy.

Hardness Testers
-
The hardness tester products you will find at PCE Instruments (PCE) are used for determining surface hardness. Each hardness tester uses a standard method of measurement. The measuring principles of most hardness tester devices are based on either the penetration of a diamond indentor into the material being tested or a calculation related to the force of the rebound after striking the tested material. However, material hardness can also be measured accurately through ultrasonic testing. Each hardness testing method has its benefits and will allow for the precise measurement of material hardness in accordance with the technical specifications of the hardness testing instrument.
