Hardness Testers
The hardness tester products you will find at PCE Instruments (PCE) are used for determining surface hardness. Each hardness tester uses a standard method of measurement. The measuring principles of most hardness tester devices are based on either the penetration of a diamond indentor into the material being tested or a calculation related to the force of the rebound after striking the tested material. However, material hardness can also be measured accurately through ultrasonic testing. Each hardness testing method has its benefits and will allow for the precise measurement of material hardness in accordance with the technical specifications of the hardness testing instrument.

Thermo-Hygrometers
The thermo-hygrometer measures both humidity of the air and temperature of the air. The thermo-hygrometer measures different ranges of humidity and temperature depending on the model. The thermo-hygrometer is versatile in that it can take measurements, store them to memory and transfer data to a computer for further detailed analysis. The thermo-hygrometer usually offers contactless working which enables non-destructive measurements. The thermo-hygrometer is very useful in evaluating damage in a warehouse. Many warehouses need to be at an exact temperature, with a specific level of humidity. e.g. for flowers or food. A difference in temperature and / or humidity would mean that the stored products get damaged or even destroyed. In households, the temperature and humidity or moisture content is also important. The optimal environmental conditions for humans are around 20°C / 68°F and 50-65% air humidity. The thermo-hygrometer is also ideal for monitoring the environment within clean rooms, labs, storage rooms and computer rooms.

Infrared Thermometers
Our infrared thermometers make it possible to measure a temperature without contact by way of determining an object emitting infrared radiation. Here you will find Infrared Thermometers for measuring temperature without contact and contain a targeting light to ensure the correct surface area is being measured. An infrared thermometer can only measure the temperature of exposed surfaces and not through glass. Some infrared thermometers possess a preset emissivity value, and others allow the user to choose the emissivity value depending on the surface material being measured, whether it's paper, wood or metallic surfaces.

Magnetometers
The strength of magnetic fields can be determined with a magnetometer. Regardless of whether in the private sector or in the work environment, the increasing use of technology and networking also increases the exposure to magnetic and electromagnetic radiation. This radiation can have a negative effect on living beings, but also on sensitive electronic devices. Many effects are so unspecific that radiation is often not recognized as the cause. With a magnetometer you can measure how strong the radiation is at your sleeping place, in the kitchen in front of the microwave or induction stove or at your workplace. The location of sensitive electronic devices such as a precision balance can be examined with the magnetometer. The extent to which the radiation intensity increases or decreases with distance can be determined by positioning the magnetometer at various distances from the radiation source.

Pressure Gauges
All of our pressure gauges are controlled by micro processors to guarantee the highest accuracy. They determine absolute pressure, negative pressure or differential pressure in air and liquids devices perfect for a research and development environment. At PCE, you can find a high-quality pressure gauge which is suitable for extreme operating environments and meets the highest industry standards. They can even be used in small places, little holes, tubes or pipes. Some pressure gauge series have the capability to transfer data to a computer, a printer or a storage device.

Lux Meters
Lux meters are used for measuring brightness in lux, fc or cd/m². Some lux meters are equipped with an internal memory or data logger to record and save measurements. The measurement of light intensity with a lux meter is becoming increasingly important in the workplace due to safety concerns. PCE Instruments' lux meters with data loggers are highly regarded in the industry due to the devices' cosine correction of the angle of incident light. Many lux meters include software for detailed analysis and offer different interfaces for transferring measured data to a computer.

Gauss Meters
A gauss meter displays electromagnetic wave measurements in Gauss (G), milliGauss (mG), milliTesla (mT) or microTesla (µT) units. A gauss meter can detect either static (DC) permanent (rare-earth) magnetic or dynamic (AC) electromagnetic fields (EMFs), or both. Thus, it is important to review the specifications of a gauss meter prior to purchase to ensure suitability for the intended application.Neodymium (NdFeB) permanent magnets are among the world's strongest and most widely used magnets. When testing magnets made of neodymium or other rare-earth elements, a gaussmeter or magnetometer capable of measuring DC magnetic fields is required. However, most electromagnetic fields encountered are generated by AC currents. Examples include electrical power lines, transformers and wiring for overhead lighting, solar panels and other electrical devices and equipment. Electromagnetic fields from electrical installations are believed to cause feelings of nervousness, anxiety and paranoia in EMF-sensitive human beings. Most gaussmeters offered by PCE Instruments can be calibrated and certified according to DIN ISO 9000 standards for an additional fee. Replacement gaussmeter probes and optional accessories are available for most gaussmeter models.

Sound Level Meters
A sound level meter is a measuring instrument used to assess noise or sound levels by measuring sound pressure. Often referred to as a sound pressure level (SPL) meter, decibel (dB) meter, noise meter or noise dosimeter, asound level meter uses a microphone to capture sound. The sound is then evaluated within the sound level meter and acoustic measurement values are shown on the display of the sound level meter. The most common unit of acoustic measurement for sound is the decibel (dB); however, some sound level meter devices also determine the equivalent continuous sound level (Leq) and other acoustic parameters. With a portable sound level meter, industrial hygiene and workplace safety professionals can measure sound levels in multiple locations to ensure environmental conditions fall within recommended exposure limits (RELs). Some sound level meter devices can be permanently installed for continuous monitoring of sound levels at a work or job site. PCE sound level meter products are lightweight, easy-to-use and manufactured in accordance with the highest industrial standards.

Torque Meters
Torque meter is available in two different versions: handheld meters or tabletop meters. Torque meter have a wide range of applications. Handheld torque meter is mainly used for industry while tabletop torque meter is the ideal tool for laboratories. Our Torque meters come with a RS-232 port to transfer torque values to a PC or a portable computer. This is very helpful if you want to save the data and stand the chance to compare what you have measured afterwards. Another possibility is that you aim to do long-term-measurements. There the interface and the software are two very useful features that are given to you.Tabletop torque meters can be equipped with a printer (option). You can also order a ISO calibration certificate as an option. This ensures that the device has been calibrated and works perfectly including a measurement with only small deviances that can still be tolerated and do not influence the product's functions. We can offer you torque meters that can measure up to a maximum measuring value of 500 Nm.

Conductivity Meters
There are both standard and a waterproof conductivity meter, as well as a conductivity meter available for flowing water or pure water (highly recommended for specific industries) as well as the ones with different conductivity measurement ranges. An important factor is that a conductivity meter normally measures electric conductivity in µS/cm, however it can also take measurements in mg/l (for direct reading of content in dissolved solid substances). The relation is established as follows: 2 µS/cm = 1ppm (parts per million) = 1 mg/l. Compensated temperature in the conductivity meter can be automatic or by hand.
