  • Hydrographic Software

    Teledyne Marine

Teledyne PDS is a software package for hydrographic survey and dredging operations. It offers modules that cover the entire operation from acquisition to the end product. The software runs on standard PCs with Windows operating system. Teledyne PDS is available in different versions tailored to specific operations. The purpose of the PDS software suite is real time reading of data from one or more sensors, make computations with the data, display the results of the computations and simultaneously log the data. To be able to control those processes a number of different views has been developed that will display the reading, computations, results, and logging processes. The data can be displayed either graphically or alphanumerically.Data needs to be verified after the measurements and Teledyne PDS has several options to remove anomalies and outliers, either manually or automatically. The final presentation of the cleaned data can be in the form of models, tables, files, volumes, nautical charts and reports.Teledyne PDS is used for many applications that involve measuring the seafloor or riverbeds for hazardous areas, progress of the dredge and construction work and safe navigation. Quality control during data collection provides best quality data that makes processing even easier. Results are shown in the digital terrain model volumes calculation reports and charts.

  • Autonomous Underwater Glider

    Teledyne Marine

Conceived by Douglas C. Webb and supported by Henry Stommel and others, the class of Slocum gliders is named after Joshua Slocum, the first man to single-handedly sail around the world. The Slocum glider is a uniquely mobile network component capable of moving to specific locations and depths and occupying controlled spatial and temporal grids. Driven in a sawtooth vertical profile by variable buoyancy, the glider moves both horizontally and vertically. The long-range and duration capabilities of Slocum gliders make them ideally suited for subsurface sampling at the regional scale. Carrying a wide variety of sensors, they can be programmed to patrol for weeks at a time, surfacing to transmit their data to shore while downloading new instructions at regular intervals, realizing a substantial cost savings compared to traditional surface ships. The small relative cost and the ability to operate multiple vehicles with minimal personnel and infrastructure will enable small fleets of gliders to study and map the dynamic (temporal and spatial) features of subsurface coastal waters around the clock and around the calendar.

  • Pipe & Cable Detection Systems

    Teledyne Marine

There are many thousand buried assets carrying supplies through our oceans from source to supplier. With all buried assets requiring regular survey and maintenance, the ever increasing demands for exact location and depth of burial for operational safety and commercial aspects mean that reliable, high performance systems are required to survey the seabed, assessing the characteristics of these assets. The HydroPACT family of detection systems is based on leading technology that has been continuously improved since its introduction more than two decades ago. Initially, the 340 was introduced defining high accuracy and reliable pipe tracking solutions which was further enhanced with the 440 release that featured improved algorithms and user interface. The latest addition the the HydroPACT group, the 660, is a small form factor 440 which introduces the next generation of pipe tracking specifically designed for and suited to smaller classes of ROV where size and weight of payload is of absolute importance.

  • Acoustic Recovery

    Teledyne Marine

Teledyne Benthos manufactures a wide range of Acoustic Releases for shallow, mid and deep water operations. Acoustic releases have been used for decades as a safe and reliable means of deploying and recovering critical subsea instrumentation. A secure acoustic command is sent from the topside unit to the subsea unit to release up to 25 tons of in-line instrumentation to the surface for recovery. All of Teledyne Benthos acoustic releases can be operated from a universal topside unit, which provides access to a wide spectrum of system capabilities and diagnostics to ensure ease of operation and successful instrumentation recovery. With over 50 years of experience in undersea applications, Teledyne Benthos Acoustic Releases have become synonymous with quality and dependability, even in the harshest of environments.
