Mezzanine System Carrier
MMS8010 / MMS8011
The Abaco ECM 3U VPX carrier supports up to six Abaco Systems Electrical Conversion Modules (ECMs) in a VITA 46 VPX form factor. Each ECM site connects 32 single-ended 3.3 V signals to the FPGA. The specific ECM board installed on a site converts the FPGA signals to 16 I/O signals, for a total of 96 I/O signals across the six ECM sites.

Built around Maxim 1488 & 1489 chips for true RS232 levels and voltage tolerance, all outputs come up in the 1, mark or idle state. Electrically this is a negative output voltage, the start bit is always a 0 or a positive voltage level.

Each channel is comprised of SCL, SDA and two Grounds.

Wideband Digital Down Converter
A Digital Down Converter performs channel access functions in digital receivers. It is used for extracting a channel (frequency band) of interest in a wideband signal. Abaco Systems' wideband DDC core employs a quad DDC architecture to achieve ultra high performances. The core accepts up to 16-bit complex data and can process 1GSPS continuously. With a fully programmable architecture at all stages of the processing, this core combines flexibility and speed and can be used in combination with our dual-channel 1GSPS ADC module.
