The strength of magnetic fields can be determined with a magnetometer. Regardless of whether in the private sector or in the work environment, the increasing use of technology and networking also increases the exposure to magnetic and electromagnetic radiation. This radiation can have a negative effect on living beings, but also on sensitive electronic devices. Many effects are so unspecific that radiation is often not recognized as the cause. With a magnetometer you can measure how strong the radiation is at your sleeping place, in the kitchen in front of the microwave or induction stove or at your workplace. The location of sensitive electronic devices such as a precision balance can be examined with the magnetometer. The extent to which the radiation intensity increases or decreases with distance can be determined by positioning the magnetometer at various distances from the radiation source.

MFM-1 -
ROM-Elektronik GmbH
For the measurement of magnetic equilibria such as the earth's magnetic field and for the determination of anomalies and biologically active location factors. The external measuring probe is connected to the measuring device by a probe cable, as a result of which an exact probe guidance is possible in places which are difficult to access. The disturbance source can be localized by the directional characteristic of the measuring probe.

10 VSM -
MicroSense, LLC
The Model 10 Mark II VSM is the state of the art in VSM magnetometers. Its sensitivity and accuracy surpasses all other commercial vector magnetometers. Its field range and resolution make it the ideal system both for high and low coercivity materials. The accuracy in the determination of the magnetization vector, together with the high sensitivity, makes this the first VSM that can be a real alternative to a torque magnetometer for anisotropy studies on modern recording materials.

EM2 -
Alpha Lab, Inc.
The Earth Magnetometer Model EM2 measures small variations from location to location in the Earth magnetic field associated with buried magnetic masses. Unlike metal detectors, a magnetometer signal is not attenuated by rock, dirt, mud or water, so targets can be detected at great depth. (If D is the diameter of a mass of magnetizable material, the EM2 can detect it as deep as 40 times the diameter D, whether the mass is specifically magnetized or not.) It is the lightest weight and lowest cost magnetometer available which can reliably measure differences down to 1 nT from point to point.

GEM Advanced Magnetometers
Many magnetic observatories today rely on a combination of scalar, fluxgate and theodolite instruments for obtaining measurements. Research installations engaged in volcanology applications are also using scalar magnetometers for stationary work. GEM?s Overhauser GSM-90 EUROMAG is particularly suited to these applications (and volcanology). This is a standard magnetometer without a display screen that can be operated via computer.

GEM Advanced Magnetometers
The optically pumped Potassium magnetometer / gradiometer / sensor is a technology that is uniquely available to GEM customers ? the result of more than a decade of research and development, and testing. Unlike yesterday?s generation of optically pumped Caesium magnetometers which represent 20 year old technology, the new Potassium system delivers the latest technologies in a choice of two configurations
