  • Thermal-Optical Analysis

    Elemental Analysis, Inc.

As with other current organic carbon and elemental carbon (OC/EC) procedures, Thermal-Optical analysis is method-defined. However, this unit has been designed to specifically address some of the problems observed in other methods in assigning carbon to either the organic or the elemental fraction. By careful system control and continuous monitoring of the optical absorbance of the sample during analysis, this method is able to both prevent any undesired oxidation of original elemental carbon and make corrections for the inevitable generation of carbon char produced by the pyrolitic conversion of organics into elemental carbon. The OC/EC instrument utilized by EAC is used to analyze both bulk samples, and aerosol particles collected on quartz-fiber filters.

  • IR CAMERAS

BROADBAND IR - Sierra Olympic Technologies Inc.

The IRC906SLS is the latest addition to IRCameras’ line of Closed Cycle Stirling Cooled Cameras. High sensitivity and a broadband response from 2µm to 10.5 µm make the IRC906SLS well suited for Chemical Detection and Analysis, Target Signature Characterization and Spectroscopy applications. The IRC906SLS is like having two cameras in one – an optional embedded filter wheel allows the user to select specific wavelengths of interest in both the MWIR and LWIR regions, taking full advantage of the extended wavelength response of the SLS sensor. The combination of a high performance digital sensor, along with the standard broadband spectral response of the SLS material, results in a truly unique infrared camera.

  • Four Channel Low-Noise DC Bias Card

    PI-41702 - Pulse Instruments

The PI-41702 is a four channel bipolar DC Bias supply that can provide an output current up to 100 mA per channel. The output voltage ranges from –8 V to +8 V, and this card has special filter circuitry to reduce the output noise for those applications that require a low noise bias output. Additionally there is a ‘D’ type connector that allows the introduction of laboratory type supplies to reduce the noise further. To change from using the internal power supplies to external power supplies requires repositioning jumpers. The PI-41702 also has voltage and current sense for remote measurement of the voltage and current levels.

  • Low Voltage DC / Battery Powered High Voltage Amplifiers

    WMA-005 And WMA-005LF - Falco Systems

The Falco Systems WMA-005 is a high voltage amplifier that runs from an 24 - 30V DC power supply and can be battery powered if required, e.g. for use in a Faraday cage. Its internal high voltage generator is inductor-free and hence does not spread magnetic interference in sensitive experimental setups. The output noise is impressively low at 3mVrms. For extremely low noise applications where bandwidth is not an issue, a dedicated WMA-005LF version is available that contains an output low pass filter capacitor which reduces the bandwidth to 50Hz, but makes the noise drop to below 0.1mVrms. This bandwidth-limited amplifier is ideal for MEMS or piezo positioning with manual voltage adjustment.

  • Low Voltage DC / Battery Powered HV Amplifiers

The Falco Systems WMA-01 is a high voltage amplifier that runs from an 24 - 30V DC power supply and can be battery powered if required, e.g. for use in a Faraday cage. Its internal high voltage generator is inductor-free and hence does not spread magnetic interference in sensitive experimental setups. The output noise is impressively low at 3mVrms. For extremely low noise applications where bandwidth is not an issue, a dedicated WMA-01LF version is available that contains an output low pass filter capacitor which reduces the bandwidth to 50Hz, but makes the noise drop to below 0.1mVrms. The Falco Systems WMA-02 is a high voltage amplifier that runs from an 24 - 30V DC power supply and can be battery powered if required, e.g. for use in a Faraday cage. Its internal high voltage generator is inductor-free and hence does not spread magnetic interference in sensitive experimental setups. The output noise is impressively low at 4mVrms. For extremely low noise applications where bandwidth is not an issue, a dedicated WMA-02LF version is available that contains an output low pass filter capacitor which reduces the bandwidth to 50Hz, but makes the noise drop to below 0.2mVrms. This bandwidth-limited amplifier is ideal for MEMS or piezo positioning with manual voltage adjustment.

  • Low Noise Prepolarized Microphone

    378A04 - PCB Piezotronics, Inc.

The 378A04 is a matched system that is comprised of a high sensitivity microphone and a low noise preamplifier that contains a built-in filter that enables the free-field response to remain flat over a wide frequency range. The system requires a minimum of 4 mA and measures to 6.5 dBA (5.5 dBA typical) within a cost efficient, prepolarized (0V) design. PCB's model 378A04, the industry's first prepolarized low noise microphone and preamplifier system allows you to measure extremely low amplitudes. In the past this was only possible with externally polarized solutions. With a typical noise floor of 5.5dBA, this microphone system delivers all of the benefits commonly associated with prepolarized systems.
