The chassis provides the plug‑and‑play simplicity of USB to sensor and electrical measurements with the higher performance data streaming of USB 3.0. It also controls the timing, synchronization, and data transfer between C Series I/O modules and an external host. You can use this chassis with a combination of C Series I/O modules to create a mix of analog I/O, digital I/O, and counter/timer measurements. The VF-145 LA and LMA models are functionally the same as the VF-145 L and LM on both electrical performance and mechanical specifications. However, the LA and LMA models include an internal PIN diode attenuator that provides up to 12 dB of attenuation (measured at 150 MHz, attenuation decrease slightly as operating frequency increases) to the incoming radio signal. This attenuation occurs after the signal is received by the unit and phase shifted for processing, but before it is placed on the coax feedline to the receiver. In addition, the PIN diode utilized will absorb short burst of RF should transceivers be keyed accidentally by the user. This feature aids in very strong signal DF operations but will not totally guarantee against system overload under very strong RF emissions.

The target market for the A8a is the electrical test of tablet and PC motherboards and high density interconnect (HDI) products for smart phones. The A8a is designed for high productivity, reliability and test accuracy. To achieve high throughput the key feature of the A8a is a new dual shuttle system, which reduces the product exchange time to zero seconds in automation mode. In combination with the fast test speed of up to 140 measurements/second the A8a will give customers a competitive test solution for batches up to 5000 boards. A typical cycle time of a 4-up smart phone board is about 2 minutes.

Wide mechanical tuning bandwidth Gunn oscillators utilize high performance GaAs Gunn diodes and various cavity designs to yield near full band frequency coverage. Unlike dual-tuner oscillators, frequency and power optimization are accomplished by a single micrometer. Furthermore, these oscillators can be modified into electrically tunable oscillators by replacing the micrometer with an electrical actuator. The wide tuning bandwidth of these oscillators offers a low cost, high performance means of signal generation, making them ideal test sources for labs and antenna ranges. While standard models offer a waveguide interface, a coaxial interface is also available. When used with a Gunn oscillator regulator/modulator (SOR series), these oscillators can produce AM or FM modulated signals for many test applications.
