  • Micro Hardness Testers

    QATM GmbH

QATM micro hardness testers for Vickers, Knoop and Brinell cover a test load range from 0.25 g to 62.5 kg. All hardness testers are equipped with an intuitive software that allows easy operation, analysis, and documentation of results. Turrets with either 6 or 8 different test diamonds or lenses can be mounted, which makes switching between Vickers, Knoop and Brinell hardness testing very simple.

  • Hardness Testers

    PCE Instruments

The hardness tester products you will find at PCE Instruments (PCE) are used for determining surface hardness. Each hardness tester uses a standard method of measurement. The measuring principles of most hardness tester devices are based on either the penetration of a diamond indentor into the material being tested or a calculation related to the force of the rebound after striking the tested material. However, material hardness can also be measured accurately through ultrasonic testing. Each hardness testing method has its benefits and will allow for the precise measurement of material hardness in accordance with the technical specifications of the hardness testing instrument.

  • Field Portable NIR Spectrometers For Mineral Identification And Analysis In Mining Exploration

    Spectral Evolution Inc.

With Spectral Evolution field portable NIR spectrometers and EZ-ID mineral identification software, geologists can measure and identify minerals within seconds and cover more ground than by using traditional methods. They can identify different mineral phases, create mineral alteration maps and more accurately identify mineral pathfinders for vectoring to ore deposits. Spectral Evolution's field portable, battery-operated oreXpress, oreXplorer and oreXpert ultra-high resolution NIR spectrometers are designed for mineral identification in mining exploration. The oreXpress, oreXplorer and oreXpert provide quick payback with faster, more accurate mineral identification in exploration for gold, silver, diamonds, iron, nickel, copper, uranium, aluminum - in the field, core shack, or in the lab, and provide:

  • Digitizer

    742 Family - CAEN S.p.A.

The 742 is the Switched Capacitor Digitizer family, based on the DRS4 chip by PSI, with the highest sampling frequency (5GS/s) and channel density. It can record very fast signals from scintillators coupled to PMTs, Silicon Photomultipliers, APD, Diamond detectors and others, and save them with high efficiency and precision for advanced timing analysis. The 742 family has an additional channel (two channels in case of VME boards) which can be used as time reference for time of fight measurements. The resolution of this kind of measurements can reach up to 50 ps.

  • Launch Fiber Box

    Diamond SA

OTDR measuring devices are used in various ways in fibre optic technology. They enable extensive characterisation of existing fibre optic cabling networks. The use of launch and receive fibres is advantageous when it comes to ensuring precise results evaluations. With bidirectional backscatter measurements with launch and receive fibres, the attenuation values of the first and last plug-in connection can be determined precisely by averaging and device dead zones can be avoided. Measuring device manufacturers recommend different lengths of launch and receives fibres to avoid “phantom reflections”. These launch and receive fibres are also subject to measuring equipment monitoring and should regularly undergo revision in accordance with the OTDR measuring devices. A good measurement result depends on the state and quality of the measuring equipment used. Diamond offers various types of launch and receive fibres, one with standard telecommunications connectors and the other with an outdoor connector for harsh environments.

  • Digitizer

    751Family - CAEN S.p.A.

The 751 is a family of CAEN Waveform Digitizer able to perform basic waveform recording and run online advanced algorithms (DPP) of charge integration and pulse shape discrimination with constant fraction timing and zero-length encoding. Data is read by a Flash ADC, 10-bit resolution and 1GS/s sampling rate (2GS/s using half of the channels in DES mode), which is well suited for fast signals as the ones coming from fast organic, inorganic and liquid scintillators coupled to PMTs or Silicon Photomultipliers, Diamond detectors and others. The acquisitioncan be channel independent and it is possible to make coincidence/ anti-coincidence logic among diferent channels and external veto/ gating. Multiple boards can be synchronized to build up complex systems.

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

    Marposs S.p.A.

Marposs complements its geometric measurement solutions with solutions for non-destructive testing using eddy current technology. The testing options can be divided in three large groups:Material integrity test, to check for the presence of defects (cracks, porosity, blow holes, inclusions) on the surface and in the layer just below the surface.Material properties test, to check if the thermal cycles (hardening, hardening and tempering, annealing, stress relieving, etc.) have been performed correctly. Material identification checks are done to sort parts with the same geometry but made with different materials.Thread inspection to check if the treading has been carried out and its quality. In addition to the non-destructive checks performed with the eddy currents, we have developed a durometer for the conventional measurement of surface hardness, according to the Rockwell scale (HRC or HRA); which uses a diamond penetrator to measure the hardness of the sample being tested.

  • Portable Hardness Testers

    NovoTest

The UCI hardness measuring method complies to ASTM A1038.The ultrasonic contact impedance (UCI) probe is purposed to be used for hardness measuring in the case of the testing area minimal thickness (from 1 mm), objects of complex surface shape, and for measuring surface hardened layers hardness. This method is very fast and easy: place the probe on the tested object surface, press the probe with the required effort to the surface and save the hardness value, shown on the display of the device. Small size diamond indenter allows measuring hardness value of all items, which are thicker than 1 mm. The UCI method of hardness testing is the least destructive because the hardness tester NOVOTEST T-UD3 with UCI probe leaves much smaller prints (imprints) than the majority of bench hardness tester would. That’s why a portable hardness tester with UCI probe is the best choice.
