A Fuel Cell Hardware Assembly consists of a pair of Poco Graphite Blocks with a precision, machined flow-pattern (pattern is serpentine unless otherwise specified by the customer), and a pair of gold plated connectors fastened with aluminum end plates. Gas inputs and outputs are through Swagelok fittings. A thermocouple well and two cartridge heaters are also provided. A single Anode Reference Electrode may be added for an additional cost. The FCT Cell Hardware does not include a Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA).

The SuperMasterCharger is an instrument designed to charge, trickle charge and analyze ( discharge ) Nickel-Cadmium, Sealed Lead-Acid and other types of rechargeable batteries. With its multiple modes of operation: Constant Current Charge ( dual and single rate ), Constant Current & Float Charge, Constant Current & Peak Stop Charge, Automatic Discharge ( analysis ), Resistance Discharge ( analysis ) and Full Discharge ( deep cycle ). The SuperMasterCharger can satisfy the requirements of most large ( 10 A-hr to 100 A-hr ) rechargeable battery systems. The instrument features safety interlocks to protect the operator, the charger and the battery in the event of reversed polarity connection, short circuit, open circuit ( no load ) and Over-voltage conditions. Two large LED digital meters permit the simultaneous monitoring of voltage and current, while eight indicator lights display the status of the operation.

The AD8452 combines a precision analog front-end controller and switch mode power supply (SMPS), pulse-width modulator (PWM) driver into a single silicon platform for high volume battery testing and formation manufacturing. A precision instrumentation amplifier (in-amp) measures the battery charge/discharge current to better than ±0.1% accuracy, while an equally accurate difference amplifier measures the battery voltage. Internal laser trimmed resistor networks establish the in-amp and difference amplifier gains (66 V/V and 0.4 V/V, respectively), and stabilize the AD8452 performance across the rated operating temperature range.
