The DEFECTOMAT systems by FOERSTER were specially developed for quality testing and process monitoring of long products. From hot testing to all bright steel processing steps, the surfaces of semi-finished products made from austenitic, (non) ferromagnetic metals can be tested for defects. The DEFECTOMAT systems operate in a contactless and non-destructive manner in accordance with the eddy current method and are used for detecting short defects, such as holes or localized defects and transverse defects. The systems detect defective materials fully automatically and reliably. Defects can be marked, classified, and automatically discarded. the test speed of up to 150 m/s facilitates 100% testing, even at high production speeds. The systems benefit from low operating costs and frugal energy consumption as well as low maintenance costs, few wear parts, and low use of materials.

Long Term Test Kit
When long term electro-chemical tests (>1000 hours) are run to monitor the cell degradation at the cathode for example, it is important to avoid any contaminant in the gas flow rate.Inconel 601 flange equipped with alumina housing and alumina tube to feed the gas to the electrode during long term test (>1000 h)Typical poisoning is coming from the chromium contained in the steel tubing. The volatile chromium species (Cr6+) will flow into the cathode (with the air) and thanks to the intake of electrons at the electrode, the chromium ion will transform to chromium oxide and be deposited at the cathode triple point. In such a case, the long term test kit is used. The Inconel 601 flange is equipped with an alumina housing (>96 % Al2O3) and the air (or other gas) is led through an alumina tube. The long term test kit is fully compatible with other functionalities proposed with the Open Flanges™ test Set-Up as the integrated steamer or the small pellet test kit. The long term test kit can be implemented on the fuel, on the air or on both sides.

This SparkFun Distance Sensor Breakout utilizes the VL53L4CD next generation ToF (Time of Flight) sensor module to give you the highly accurate measurements at short ranges for its size. The VL53L4CD from STMicroelectronics uses a VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) to emit an infrared laser to time the reflection to the target. That means that you will be able to measure the distance to an object from 1mm to 1300mm away with millimeter resolution! To make it even easier to get your readings, all communication is enacted exclusively via I2C, utilizing our handy Qwiic system so no soldering is required to connect it to the rest of your system. However, we still have broken out 0.1”-spaced pins in case you prefer to use a breadboard.
