There are numerous ways of measuring Ocean Waves. At Aanderaa, we focus on three measurement types: pressure, acoustic, and motion. In this section, we cover the motion-based sensors in the MOTUS family.MOTUS Directional Wave Sensor is suitable for integration on different buoy types. It is intended for commercial as well as research use. The directional stand-alone Sensor processes wave data and is configurable to directly present parameters and wave spectrum. The sensor can be connected to a SmartGuard using the CANbus-based AiCaP protocol. It can also be connected to a PC or third-party systems through the RS-232 interface.MOTUS Wave Height Sensor is for wave height only. As the MOTUS Directional Sensor, it is suitable for integration on different buoy types. In the sensor, the directional wave parameters are locked. It is possible to open the wave direction parameters with a software license from Aanderaa later if the need changes. MOTUS Lite OEM Sensor is the OEM version of the MOTUS Directional Wave sensor. Four channel MAX31855 digital thermocouple Arduino Shield. Two versions of this shield are avaliable for each thermocouple type: either 'Ch 0-3' (CS pins use Uno/Mega IO pins 7-10) or 'Ch 4-7' (CS pins use Uno/Mega IO pins 3-6), with the only difference being which set of zero-ohm resistors are populated on the board. This allows use of other SPI devices that may be 'hard coded' to specific digital pins on the Arduino, or simply stacking one of each type together to get a total of eight thermocouple channels on one Arduino.Each order comes with one board and a set of four female, long extension, headers that can be soldered to the board. If stacking two of these modules on top of each other, please order both a Ch 0-3 and a Ch 4-7 board, as well as an additional set of headers for stacking. We're working on sourcing even longer headers, but the ones currently available are not long enough to stack as-is (they need to be double-stacked).The MAX31855T supports a measured temperature range of -270C-400C with known thermal characteristics and output resolution of 0.25C. Included thermocouple connectors are type-specific to provide proper material continuity as close to the IC as possible. It features a continuous, 330KHz for low gain (44KHz for high gain), gap-free data acquisition under DOS and Windows. The PCI-1800 family has the same architecture and has two 12-bit D/A output channels, 16 digital input channels, and 16 digital output channels. The PCI-1800H, PCI-1800L provides 16 single-ended or 8 differential inputs. The PCI-1802H and PCI-1802L provide 32 single-ended or 16 differential inputs. The -H means high gain model and the -L means low gain model. The scan function of PCI-1800 is so amazing. We call it Magic Scan. The variable channel scan function is found in some famous data acquisition boards. Compared to Variable channel scan, the Magic Scan improves a lot functions and meets the demand of high end users. The Magic Scan mechanism not only scans the different input channels at vastly different rates, but also at different gain. Even in multi-channel scans, the sampling rates can maintain at 330KS/s.
