This version of the 8x4 power matrix is for heavy current/low duty cycle power switching. Connections are made via a front panel 37-way D-Type male connector or two 20-way GMCT male connectors. The 50-510 series of matrix cards feature a wide range of selectable switching configurations (22x4,dual 20x4,22x8 and 44x4). Larger matrices may be constructed by Daisy Chaining the common signals from multiple PCI cards. For example four 44x4 Cards will form a 176x4 Matrix, a total of 704 crosspoints. Expansion cables are available for the 50-512 and 50-513: The 50-512 can be expanded to 44x8 or the 50-513 can be expanded to 88x4 using two cards linked by the ribbon cable assembly 50-976-020-0.1M. Also the 50-512 can be expanded to 22x16 or the 50-513 can be expanded to 44x8 using two cards linked by the ribbon cable assembly 50-976-050-0.1M.

This is a PXI signal insertion and monitor matrix with switched pass thru connections on both X and Y axis. It is also availablein a 16x4 format and can be used for signal insertion and monitoring purposes on connections between the UUT and test system. Each pass thru connection from LX to X can be open or closed to allow the programmatic disconnection of the signal to check the response of the UUT. The matrix can be used to connect test equipment, such as a DMM or scope, to monitor the pass thru signals via Y connections while the LY connections can be used to insert a fault condition or insert external signals. When external signals are injected the LX connections can be opened and the LY connections closed.
