The UC INSTRUEMNTS CA9806-12 is a highp erformance, flexible 12 channels Pulse Pattern Generator and Error Detector that can operate from 1.0 to 17.0 Gb/s (200 G). It is combined with three sets CA9806 4 CH 1.0 to 17.0 Gbps Pulse Pattern Generator and Error Detector that incorporates an external one by 4 rate clock synthesizer. Its small size allows it to be placed close to the device under test, it can also be placed further away using the TX driver pre and post emphasis controls features to compensate for cable and interconnect losses. It also has a non destructive, integrated eye outline capture feature along with a quick eye height and width measurement capability. Build-in 8.5 ~ 15 Gb/s eye diagram testing function.

The Keysight 8474C is a high-performance detector using a gallium arsenide, planar-doped barrier detecting element. It features extremely flat frequency response over its entire band of operation and very good frequency response stability versus temperature. The Keysight 8474C is also very rugged with high resistance to ESD damage. The Keysight 8474C detector is available with a 3.5-mm (mates with SMA, 0.01 to 33 GHz) connector. This detector offers the options for optimal sqaure-law loads (Option 102) and for positive polarity output (option 103). Because the unit-to-unit frequency response tracking of this device is typically better than 0.3 dB, no matched response option is offered.

Broadband Detectors

These waveguide bandwidth detectors use silicon beam lead diodes on a planar stripline circuit to obtain an extremely rugged and compact device. Most millimeter wave broadband detectors have very poor VSWR due to the difficulty in obtaining a good wideband impedance match to the diode. To overcome this problem, these detectors utilize two diodes and an internal matched termination and 3 dB hybrid as shown below. This circuit allows a VSWR of 2.0 or better over a full waveguide bandwidth for most of these detectors. Detectors for waveguides WR-8 and smaller use a single zero bias GaAs diode. The high sensitivity zero bias GaAs diodes can also be special ordered for use at lower frequencies when highest sensitivity is required.
