USHIO developed a UV meter series to measure intensities of UV radiation. As an add-on, the temperature is also registered. You can decide between the high-end UV meter UIT-250, and UIT-201. The former has a wider measurement range, allows the measurement of energy doses and has the capability to transfer the data via a serial communication protocol to a PC. Various sensors are available. The most popular sensors have center wavelengths at 254 nm, 365 nm or 410 nm.

Built for high intensity applications the NEW OAI Model 308T UV Light Meter is a dependable, direct-reading instrument designed for measuring UV light intensity for UV curing. The Model 308T features detachable probes for use in the UVA, UVB and UVC ranges, plus a high speed serial port. Accuracy of the meter is within ±3%and measurement repeatability is within ±3 LSB (least significant bit). Like all OAI precision instruments, the Model 308T provides NIST traceable measurements. This easy-to-use meter is auto-ranging from 0.1 to 1999.9 milliwatts/cm2 full scale when used with the 2000 milliwatts/ cm2 probe. The linearity of the meter in this range is at least ±(.002% + 6 LSB).

Such cameras are insensitive against sunlight due to negligible sensitivity to visible and long wavelength UV light. Solar blind UV cameras are used in a series of applications like corona detection, fire detection, combustion analysis, plasma research, testing UV lamps, etc. However, highly sensitive corona detection is the main mass application and these devices are of crucial importance in electric power industry. These imaging devices enable easy detection of degraded insulators of high voltage transmission lines, distributions and substations. From design point of view solar blind UV cameras are actually bispectral imaging systems built by combining true UV camera with typical visible camera.
