The 96xx series DDS generators deliver the highest performance in both speed and resolution. The series includes produts between one and 24 synchronous channels. DDS – Direct Digital Synthesis – is a method for generating sine waves from a single, fixed-frequency reference clock and is widely used in signal generation applications. The DDS functionality implemented on Spectrum Instrumentation’s AWG platform is based on the principle of adding multiple “DDS cores” to generate a mul?ti-carrier (multi-tone) signal, with each carrier having its own well-defined frequency, amplitude and phase. In addition to these static parameters, there are also build in dynamic parameters like frequency slope and amplitude slope to allow for intrinsic linear changes for multiple cores.

The 425A generates sine, LVDS and LVCMOS outputs simultaneously and is programmable in 10µHz steps from 250kHz to 350MHz and includes an LVCMOS Prescaler and Divider for generating LVCMOS frequencies down to 2 Hz. The 425A is controlled by an RS232 serial interface. Phase can be programmed with 14-bit resolution. The Frequency is accurate to 1.5ppm when using the on board TCXO timebase or you can use an external timebase. It requires 5 VDC power. A Line Voltage AC Adapter is included. The 1450B outputs can be configured as sine waves or square waves and can provide frequencies of 10MHz, 1MHz, 100kHz, 1pps or optional signal generator outputs. The signal generator outputs use direct digital synthesizer (DDS) technology and are confirurable from 100Hz to 171MHz. The 1450B also includes a 1pps input that can be used to discipline and automatically calibrate the 1450B. The 1pps input signal is typically obtained from an external device like a GPS frequency receiver/antenna. The Novatech GPS1 Smart Antenna with 1pps output is available as an accessory to provide a complete turnkey solution.
