Flash Vs. Scan
A LiDAR system can observe the complete field of view (FOV) at once, called Flash systems. Flash typically works well for short to mid-range (0-100m), and by capturing the complete scene at once also objects with high relative speeds can be detected properly. Another implementation is to focus on a subset of the FOV, consequentially look at the next subsets, until the complete FOV is covered, called Scanning. Scanning can focus the light on the subset instead of the full FOV, and therefore can do object detection at a longer range compared to Flash.

The SC5510A and SC5511A are VCO-based, synthesized signal sources with very low phase noise and an amplitude control of 0.01 dB throughout its -30 dBm to +15 dBm output power range. By utilizing a unique multiple phase-locked loop architecture, phase spurs are kept below -70 dBc across the entire tuning range, even at 1 Hz step resolution. These 20 GHz signal sources include an additional, independent RF2 channel with a tunable frequency range from 100 MHz to 3 GHz and a tuning resolution of 25 MHz. The extra channel makes the modules suitable for either single-stage RF conversion systems or dual-stage image suppression up/down converter systems. Both modules make great general-purpose laboratory signal sources where demanding low phase noise and signal purity are required. They are both ideal choices as an integrated clock source for fast DAC and ADC applications, especially those that require variable sampling rates. Development of a 12-way test and programming adapter from Toptest for ?? The Dash ?? from Bragi, a wireless, intelligent earphone with communication and sensor technology. With the first version of the test adapter, only a purely sequential testing was possible due to the interdependencies of the tests. In version 3.0, the now autonomous tests were brought into a parallel TestStand sequence. In addition, individual sockets were prioritized in order to optimally use the hardware resources. This resulted in a time advantage of 80% compared to the initial situation.

Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators consist of two metal electrodes above and below a layer of a piezoelectric material. The piezoelectric material converts an electrical signal to a mechanical signal and vice versa. The metal electrodes provide the connections to/from the piezo material. The frequency at which resonance occurs depends on the thickness of the combined metal-piezo-metal stack. Advances in thin-film piezoelectric fabrication have enabled BAW resonators to meet RF filtering challenges up to 6000 MHz using standard MEMS fabrication process. High-performance BAW resonators-based RF filters are made of piezoelectric material having high Q-factor (>3000) and high coupling coefficient. Currently, no competitive technology provides the same high performance for RF filter applications when compared to BAW resonator-based RF filter up to 6000 MHz for the same size and cost.
