Sector Antennas
A sector antenna is a type of directional microwave antenna with a sector-shaped radiation pattern. The word "sector" is used in the geometric sense; some portion of the circumference of a circle measured in degrees of arc. 60°, 90° and 120° designs are typical, often with a few degrees 'extra' to ensure overlap and mounted in multiples when wider or full-circle coverage is required (see photos below). Some GPS receivers incorrectly sense an antenna fault when there is no current draw. The 200 ohm internal load provides a simulated antenna current drain which prevents receiver faulting. Max voltage rating at the DC blocked ports is 15 VDC; maximum current rating is 75 mA. Max voltage rating at the DC pass port is 50 VDC; max current rating is 2000 mA.
