The GPIB-PMC-XL is a PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) GPIB controller card that converts any CPU card with PMC slots into a GPIB controller.It performs all the basic IEEE-488.1 functions such as talker, listener and system controller. The IEEE-488.2 compatible functions make it fully compliant with the IEEE-488.2 specification. In controller applications, you can control typically up to 15 devices (instruments). If operated as a talker/listener (device) interface it does exchange data and state information with the current controller-in-charge of the GPIB bus. The GPIB-PMC-XL lets Windows and Linux programs control GPIB devices.The flat ribbon cable has a standard GPIB jack on one end and a receptacle to be plugged into the GPIB card on the other end. The 30cm (12in) flat ribbon cable is included by Team Solutions, Inc.
The Windows software set is included with the GPIB card. It is a WDM driver and supports Windows XP/2k/Vista/7/8 (32- & 64-bit 7 & 8), on all PC compatible platforms. Libraries and header files are included for the Visual C++, Visual Basic, MINGW and Delphi development systems. An industry standard compatible GPIB-32.DLL supports nearly all applications designed for that interface, including applications developed for LabView 6+, LabWindows, Agilent VEE, TransEra HT-Basic, Agilent Intuilink, and more.
We remove the normal-height PCI hold-down bracket from the Ines GPIB-PCI-XL or GPIB-PCI-E, replacing it with the LOW-PROFILE bracket. We keep the normal-height bracket in exchange.
The i72120 GPIB-Chip is the ideal solution to implement a IEEE488.2 GPIB interface for next generation PCI based instruments. The GPIB-ASIC is designed to meet all of the functional requirements for talker and listener (TL) devices as specified by the IEEE Standards 488.1-1987 and 488.2-1987. Connected between the PCI bus and the GPIB, this GPIB-IC provides high-level management of the GPIB to unburden the processor and to simplify both hardware and software design. The i72120 is fully compatible with the PCI specification and requires only the addition of bus driver/receiver components to implement a talker/listener GPIB interface.
