The UD APEX Vibration Controller is now available with up to 32 input channels. Two hardware configurations are offered, the popular APEX SL with 4-16 channels, and the all new APEX PRO with 20-32 channels (both configurable in 4 channel increments). Each unit offers the latest technology in digital signal processing and shaker control algorithms providing real time vibration test control for Random, Sine, Shock, Resonance Dwell, SRS, Random on Random, Multi-tone Sine on Random, Multi-Sine Control, TRAC (time replication acceleration control) testing and Transducer Calibration, as well as extensive data acquisition and analysis. The vibration controller modular software may be initially customized for specific applications or easily expanded in the future without performance penalties. The vibration controller software provides an abundance of comprehensive features that ensure simple, safe, accurate and reliable vibration testing.

The Sine Monitor Analysis Response (SMART) Tool is a powerful software utility available with all new APEX SL and APEX PRO Control/Analysis workstations. The SMART Tool not only provides the standard capabilities of a stand-alone sinusoidal oscillator, but also provides measurement and spectrum displays of the resulting vibration when driving the shaker. These features are extremely useful in establishing system confidence checks of the complete vibration test system, performing fixture and test specimen vibration surveys, troubleshooting system faults, and aiding in preventive maintenance.

The APEX Series Controllers offer an optional RS232 Amplifier/Shaker interface and a software command/status panel to operate UD’s newly enhanced SA and SAI Series amplifier/shaker systems. The SA-Command Link provides identical functionality as the standard SA Amplifier front panel switch buttons, LED status indicators and current/voltage meters. In addition, it provides a Power Save selection to automatically power down the UD SAI Amplifier/Shaker system after a test has finished or aborted, and current / voltage limits can be set to abort the test for added system / specimen protection. Now the complete UD test system can be initiated, monitored, and controlled from one convenient location.

Acquire, Analyze, Import Vibration Data

Reproducing actual field vibration data is a key feature of the APEX Series Vibration Controllers! It provides four distinct and important choices for analyzing and importing data for creation of random, transient shock, and time replication acceleration control (TRAC) tests. Collecting data and importing the information into the controller is accomplished by using the Signal Analyze/Transient Capture and Data Acquisition modes, or by importing stored ASCII file data. The Import Data Manger provides guidance and extensive editing options for optimizing the new test. The resulting test reference (time or frequency spectrum) can then be performed at the vibration test system.

Apex Series Calibration Kit

The APEX Series Calibration Kit provides calibration personnel the ability to re-certify the calibration of the APEX SL or APEX PRO control systems in-house. A simple Windows based program and an RS232 digital interface to a Keithley multi-meter, goes through system checks and verifications, and provides a detailed printed report of pass/fail, actual and expected values, and tolerances for each parameter checked.
