The M2p.75xx series of fast digital I/O cards allow to acquire or replay digital patterns with a programmable speed of up to 125 MS/s. The direction can be switched by software between input (digital data acquisition) and output (digital pattern generation). The on-board memory of 1 GByte can be completely used for digital pattern. Furthermore the on-board memory can be switched to a FIFO buffer allowing to continuously stream data in either output or input direction.

Digital I/O cards acquire digital waveforms and replay digital waveforms. Digital waveform generators are often also named Pattern Generators or Streaming Pattern Generators. The input/output level is either fixed to one technology (like TTL) or the levels can be software programmed by the user. Spectrums Digital I/O cards can be internally synchronized to A/D cards and D/A cards to form Mixed Mode systems. A main advantage of the pattern generation is the ability to work as streaming pattern generator with the integrated output FIFO mode.

The M4i.77xx-x8 series digital waveform acquisition (logic-analyzer) cards include versions with 32 synchronous channels, either single-ended with programmable threshold levels or differential. The large onboard memory can be segmented to record different waveform sequences. While the M4i.77xx cards have been designed using the latest technology they are still software compatible with the drivers from earlier Spectrum digital acquisition cards. Therefore existing customers can use the same software they developed for a 10 year old 60 MS/s digital input card also for an M4i.77xx series 720 MS/s logic analyzer.
