Receiver shall receive the telemetry signal transmitted by the airborne TGS unit. This unit is a single conversion super heterodyne FM receiver operating at 1486.5MHz. This unit has four connectors. They are RF input connector (J1), Power connector (J2), Signal connector (J3) for AGC signal and a Video output connector (J4). This unit operates at 28V DC and consumes a typical power of 5.6 watts.
Antenna Tuning unit is used to automatically tune the notch antenna impedance. Microprocessor does tuning through tuning inbuilt algorithm. It has RS485 interface for external control unit interface. Capacitor unit (CU), Inductor unit, (IU) and RF Element are subunits of this antenna-tuning unit. System maximizes transmission.
Distance measuring equipment (DME) is a transponder-based radio navigation technology that measures distance by timing the propagation delay of UHF radio signals. The DME system is composed of a UHF transmitter/receiver (interrogator) in the aircraft and a UHF receiver/transmitter (transponder) on the ground. The aircraft interrogates the ground transponder with a series of pulse-pairs (interrogations) and the ground station replies with an identical sequence of reply pulse-pairs with a precise time delay (typically 50 microseconds). The time difference between interrogation and reply minus the 50 microsecond ground transponder delay is measured by the interrogator's timing circuitry and translated into a distance measurement in nautical miles which is then displayed in the cockpit.
Encoder Decoder Unit is used to interact with ground station through PCM interface. Receives and transmits command/status information on Lakshya aircraft. Also provides real time clock synchronization, latitude/longitude information and IRIG-B Time. System is a digital, high speed FPGA controlled, intelligent unit to interact with various sub systems.
Event counter is sleek system used to keep track of events. Event counter system is an independent unit with LED, event and reset buttons used for user interface. User generated events are displayed by LED (seven segment display scheme). Event counter Board consists of Microcontroller, counters, monostable multivibrator, transmitters & receivers (RX232, RX422). Event button is used to increment the events and reset button is used to reset the count value. Events are displayed on seven segment display mechanism for visual analysis. Event counter unit starts count from 000 and counts upto 999 events on pressing the event push button. The event value is transmitted over the RS232 / RS422 /TTL communication line to the recorder system.

Power Amplifier is used to amplify the RF signals from low power to 100 Watts of RF carrier power to 400 Watts Peak envelop power (single side band operation). Outputs are filtered. This system is controlled through microprocessor and it has RS485 interface.
Receiver Exciter is used to receive and transmit HF range signals & processing HF signals into voice and data format using DSP technology. It consists of high quality HF receiver and HF exciter. System has SELCAL and secure communication features. System has configuration facility for Frequency range, mode of operation (AM, LSB, USB, DATA, CW), volume, squelch level from external control unit. The exciter produces the low power signal which is fed to the power amplifier unit.
This system is used to acquire Bi phase and DM signals from aircraft and records into FLASH memory. System has automatic frame synchronization and it is achieved through in built hardware circuit.
