The 40-781A-121-E (PXI) and 42-781A-121-E (PXIe) are single failsafe SPDT 18 GHz microwave relay modules with external terminations and remotely mounted relays. The 40/42-781A range is available with one or two SPDT switches capable of switching frequencies up to 50 GHz in 50 Ω. They are available with either internal or external terminations and connections are via front panel mounted high quality SMA, SMA 2.9 or SMA 2.4 connectors.

The matrix design permits any single Y input to be connected to any single X input, permitting the concurrent connection of 16 RF paths. The range of modules is available in 50 Ω and 75 Ω variants with mixed SP4T & SPDT switches in a single PXI module. They are available with two connector options; SMB that provides a frequency range of 1.8 GHz (50 Ω) / 1.3 GHz (75 Ω), or multiway which limits the bandwidth to 1.3 GHz but offers a high density solution occupying one PXI slot. The connectors used are fully supported by the range of Pickering Interfaces connection solutions.
