Isolated LVDS
-
Isolated LVDS (low voltage differential signaling) devices couple differential signals applied to the LVDS receiver inputs across the isolation barrier to the outputs on the other side and re-transmits the bit stream or clock as LVDS. Analog Devices' drop-in LVDS isolators offer designers robust, high speed differential signaling for point-to-point and multidrop applications. Extending iCoupler® chip scale transformer technology for ultrahigh speed data encoding, these LVDS isolators support a a data rate of up to 2.5 Gigabits per channel for a total bandwidth of 10 Gbps. In contrast to expensive fiber implementations, deserialized links over standard digital isolators or optocouplers, and design-intensive bespoke solutions using transformers or high voltage capacitors, ADI Gigabit Digital LVDS isolators offer the only integrated comprehensive, high performance isolation at 10 Gbps. High performance galvanic isolation for applications include analog front-end (AFE), processor to processor serial communication, or video and imaging data (such as HDMI isolators) as well as isolation between boards, or at a cable interface for LVDS or CML signal chains.

IO-Link
-
The IO-Link® interface simplifies communication to smart sensors and actuators, combining signaling with power-over-cable technology. It has become one of the key devices as industrial automation systems are growing more interconnected and intelligent to accommodate demands for centralized control and optimized production. Analog Devices implements both device PHY and master PHY interfaces (COM1/COM2/COM3). Designing with harsh industrial environments in mind, the master 4-port IO-Link power and communications interface, as well as the IO-Link transceivers featuring Integrated Step-Down Regulators and LDO with ±60V cable interface protection provide the required ruggedness. Optimum EMC performance is achieved with adjustable current limit and slew rate transmitters. Automatic wake-up request (WURQ) generation and an output supply current boosting capability for device startup are also available. Additional components integrate a 300 mA step-down (buck) regulator and a 150 mA LDO to supply all the power required for internal electronics in an connected sensor or actuator.

Synchro/Resolver to Digital Converters
-
Resolvers and synchros are transducers that convert the angular position and/or velocity of a rotating shaft to an electrical signal. Both deliver signals proportional to the sine and/or cosine of the shaft angle. A resolver-to-digital or synchro-to-digital converter converts these signals to a digital output corresponding to the shaft angle and/or velocity. ADI’s family of RDCs and SDCs offer solutions for these applications.

Multiprotocol Transceivers
-
Analog Devices’ RS-232/RS-485 multiprotocol transceivers are the only parts in the market that allow protocol switching and allow for switching between half-/full-duplex operation and switching on/off termination resistors, both of which minimize physical user intervention when reconfiguring networks. Features include 3.3 V to 5 V operation, up to ±26 kV ESD, a logic supply pin, and small LFCSP packages. As large-scale computing applications typically require more protocols than the RS-232 and RS-485 protocols found in everyday applications, we support legacy protocols. These include V.28 (RS-232), V.35, RS-449, RS-530, RS-530-A, V.36, or X.21. Software-selectable protocol, cable termination, and data terminal equipment (DTE) or data communications equipment (DCE) configurations all provide convenient flexibility.

TimerBlox
-
Analog Devices TimerBlox parts are small, accurate, and simple timing devices designed for six basic operations: voltage controlled oscillation (VCO), low frequency clocking, pulse-width modulation (PWM), one-shot generation and signal delay, and power-on reset (POR). TimerBlox devices combine an accurate programmable oscillator with precision circuitry and logic. No capacitors, no crystals, no microcontroller, and no programming are required. A 20 mA source and sink capability enables the devices to directly drive opto-isolators and transformers for electrical isolation. An ideal solution for space-limited applications, each TimerBlox device can be placed at the point of use.

Signal Chain µModule Receivers
µModule®
-
Analog Devices µModule® (micromodule) receivers consist of high performance, high speed ADCs with fixed-gain, high speed amplifiers and antialias filters. Our integrated ADC and driver products include integrated bypass capacitance and simplify the high frequency layout required to preserve ac performance. The board space savings are significant for instrumentation applications such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes ,and communications test equipment, or for communications applications such as high sensitivity receivers, software-defined radio (SDR), or signal intelligence receivers. Our portfolio uses system-in-package (SiP) technology similar to multichip modules (MCM) to integrate components with different technologies, along with passive components to make an integrated subsystem.

Fully Differential Amplifiers
-
Differential amplifiers allow the process of single-ended input to complementary differential outputs or differential inputs to differential outputs. These amplifiers feature two separate feedback loops to control the differential and common-mode output voltages. Analog Devices fully differential amplifiers are configured with a VOCM pin, which can be easily adjusted for setting output common-mode voltage. This provides a convenient solution when interfacing with analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). ADI also offers a series of differential receiver products that convert differential input signals to single ended output.
