Transverse HD Sawmill Meter
MC PRO 1500 HDNC
-
Finna Sensors built the Transverse HDNC Sawmill Meter to increase the number of potential sensors from 8 to 24. The sensors can now be specified to fit within chain runs and can be located on both the top and bottom faces. This significant increase in surface area allows mills to identify sapwood/heartwood boundary areas or wet pockets for proper sorting prior to kiln drying. Sorting by moisture content has been shown to improve drying productivity by 10% to 15%, as well as, enhance lumber recovery. Further advancements in the software allow users to track packages through the drying process, add Internet of Things (IOT) data and perform advanced analytics with new reports.

SMART III RF Probe
-
Finna Sensors’ Smart III RF Moisture Probe is appropriate in those situations where NIR use on conveying systems/web applications or RF flat plate sensor use on board type products are not sufficient. Examples include tanks, bins, barrels, drums, Super Sacks™, silos, etc. These applications require a probe type moisture meter where the probe is inserted into, and is surrounded by product. Since the probe generates a 3 inch diameter radio frequency field around the length of the probe, a significant volume of product is measured. As the product is slowly removed from the silo, and refilled from the top, it passes by the RF Probe, thereby providing a constant real time moisture measurement. Typical applications would include starches, distillers and brewers grains, granulated chemicals or food ingredients, whole grains such as corn kernels, rice, soybeans, tree nut stockpiles, etc.

Precigrader: Acoustic MSR System
-
Precigrader is an acoustic on-line strength grading system. The system is installed in more than 150 mills. It is used to determine common commercial grades in North America, including 1650 and 2100. A spring-loaded impact mechanism strikes the lumber as it passes. The resulting vibration is captured by microphones to determine the appropriate MSR grade.
