Instron

While researching replacement materials for parachutes, two scientists discovered that no testing machine was accurate enough to meet their demands. They founded Instron in 1946, and we pioneered universal testing machines featuring strain-gauge load cells. Today, Instron remains committed to delivering the highest quality, leading-edge technologies and services designed to push the boundaries of research, quality control and service-life testing. Our systems evaluate the mechanical properties of materials and structures using tensile, compression, flexural, fatigue, impact, dynamic, torsional and multi-axial loading. Through a global infrastructure, we offer a broad range of local service capabilities, including calibration, verification, training, technical support and assistance with laboratory management.

  • (250 kN) Fatigue Testing System

    8802 - Instron

The Instron 8802 is a high stiffness, 250kN fatigue rated servohydraulic testing system that meets the challenging demands of both static and dynamic testing requirments. The 8802 systems include a range of configurations available to provide complete testing solutions to satisfy the needs of advanced materials and component testing. The design of the 8802 frame makes it ideal for installation within a laboratory environment, generally without the need for strangethened floors or raised ceiling heights.

  • VisualIMPACT Software

    Instron

CEAST VisualIMPACT software is designed to control CEAST Pendulums and Drop Tower Series, manage tests and offer a user-friendly interface when using the Data Acquisition System. It records force and absorbed energy data related to impacts, visualizes and helps analyze the results and calculates resilience. The operator is guided through parameters setup by means of tables describing strikers and specimens that are filtered according to the test type and international standard selected. In the case of instrumented tests, many possibilities for data analysis and visualization are made available. The results are shown through comprehensive and customizable graphs and can be filtered by break type (only specimens with a selected break type are shown). Working with groups of test, the software performs a statistical analysis, and the operator can pick and discard single test results. Different measurement units can be selected. It is possible to print reports and to export data totally or partially. Recent improvements include the possibility to set a number of user profiles, including graphic settings, default printing options, advanced parameters for data analysis and so on, switching quickly from one another when looking at results. The introduction of a new Data Acquisition System (CEAST DAS 64K) in the Impact product line has also triggered a number of new capabilities for the SW, which is now able to process a more comprehensive calibration file for instrumented tups and hammers and manage DAS configurations with a wider range of data acquisition channels.

  • Crack Opening Displacement (COD) gauges

    COD - Instron

Instron® Crack Opening Displacement transducers are designed specifically to perform standard ASTM and ISO fracture mechanics tests (both cyclic and static), covering all common specimen geometries (CT, SEB, Centre Crack, Arc Shaped). Each model offers class leading linearity, whilst being rugged enough to withstand the high energy release common in many of these applications and can be used at both elevated and sub-ambient temperatures. These gauges comply with requirements laid down in ASTM E399-09.

Choose from axial only or combined axial-torsion systems that can deliver up to 10kN and 100Nm. Available in 3 sizes, simply pick the one that's right for you. ElectroPuls, a simpler, smarter, safer way to meet your testing needs.

  • Dynamic and Fatigue Testing Systems

    Instron

Instron offers an extensive range of fully-integrated dynamic and fatigue testing systems from 1000 N up to 5000 kN. Incorporating servohydraulic, servo-electric and linear motor technologies, these test instruments cover a broad range of fatigue, dynamic, and static testing applications. These applications include high-cycle fatigue, low-cycle fatigue, thermo-mechanical fatigue, fracture mechanics, crack propagation and growth studies, fracture toughness, bi-axial, axial-torsional, multi-axial, high strain rate, quasi-static, creep, stress-relaxation, and other types of dynamic and static tests.

  • Drop-Through Load Cells

    Instron

Instron load cells are an integral part of the load weighing system of a testing machine. Their interchangeability along with transducer recognition and single point electrical calibration makes them easy to use. They maintain high alignment and are resistant to offset loading throughout the test, even with large sized specimens. Instron controls the design, manufacture and quality of all load cells, with customer applications in mind. They are certified in accordance with international standards for use in material testing machines only.

  • Bluehill LE for Basic Testing

    Instron

Bluehill® LE Software, built on the latest Bluehill 3 platform and replaces Bluehill Lite, meets the requirements of fundamental applications andstandardized test requirements for tension, compression, flexure, peel, and tear testing. Features, such as live control charts, automatic report generation, and TrendTracker™ database for data analysis, make it an ideal choice for Quality Control testing that demand productivity and ease of use.

  • Automated Testing Systems

    Instron

Automated Testing Systems enable a new dimension of testing productivity. These systems were designed as a solution to these common testing challenges:*Safety*Throughput*Repetitive Tasks/Better Use of Skilled Operators*Variability of Results

  • Pendulum Testers

    Instron

Instron pendulums are designed to meet the growing demand for accurate and repeatable impact testing on a wide range of materials. Used to determine the mechanical and physical properties of metals, polymers, composites, and finished products for both research and development (R&D) and quality control (QC), the pendulum family is capable of performing Charpy, Izod, and Tensile tests according to international standards. As uninstrumented systems, they provide the absorbed energy value. By fully instrumenting the pendulum, a more complete study of how the material reacts to impact can be gathered. This information is useful when evaluating the type of failure and the dynamic response of the material.

  • Furnaces

    Instron

These three zone resistance wire wound furnaces are of split construction to facilitate fast and easy loading of a pre-assembled specimen train. The case is constructed from stainless steel with aluminium and hardened insulation board end plates. The optional front cut-out allows the use of side-entry high-temperature extensometry. Adjustable stainless steel latches keep the furnace halves locked together during use, but are then easily opened once testing is complete. The furnace is available with optional heavy duty brackets or mountings, which attach to a wide range of testing systems. An extensive range of standard controllers is available to suit most test regimes. Custom variants can be specified should the standard range not include a suitable unit.
