Its linearly polarized designed permits separate measurement of horizontal and vertical electric field components over its established range. Enclosed in a weather resistant radome, this antenna is suitable for indoor or outdoor usage.

The EM-6115 is a broad band collinear array allowing very wide Omni-Directional frequency coverage in a single package. Below approximately 100 MHz, the EM-6115 acts as an active vertical rod which offers 10 to 12 dB Greater unsaturated instantaneous dynamic range than competitive antennas (overload field strength: 2 V/meter) which greatly reduces intermodulation generated signals in a typical read world RF environment. In the congested spectrum above 100 MHz the antenna is passive and contributes no intermodulation products so the overload point is determined solely by the receiving instrument. This immunity to overload can often make the difference between useful signal output and an indecipherable jumble of spurious products and is accomplished without compromising sensitivity. The antenna collapses for convenient storage and transport.

This lightweight antenna is ideal for deployable applications that require wideband coverage in a very small footprint. The antenna’s elements collapse for convenient storage and transport. The antenna is configured to mount on a standard ¼-20 tripod stud. The EM-6104-1 Omni-Directional antenna is supplied with an EM-6089 Battery Pack.

A balun, feedline, and element cage give the Electro-Metrics EM-6912A response curves that are almost linear, making it ideal for swept measurements. An added benefit is that the EM-6912A has an improved BALUN design, which makes it insensitive to changes of orientation while vertically polarized. Readings obtained will be the same no matter which element is closest to the ground plane, eliminating a potential source of measurement error.
