The MEMSIC 2125 is a low cost, dual-axis thermal accelerometer capable of measuring tilt, acceleration, rotation, and vibration with a range of ±3 g. For integration into existing applications, the MEMSIC 2125 is electrically compatible with other popular accelerometers. MEMSIC provides the 2125 in a surface-mount format. The UV Light Sensor measures ambient ultraviolet intensity in the 200 to 370 nanometer range, within the solar ultraviolet UVA, UVB, and UVC light spectrum. The sensor has a built-in amplifier with adjustable levels. The Altimeter Module MS5607 is a high resolution (20 cm) electronic altimeter sensor that gives highly accurate altitude, pressure, and temperature readings. The module includes a high-linearity barometric pressure sensor and a high-resolution temperature output, allowing implementation of an altimeter/thermometer without any additional sensors. Different operation modes allow the user to optimize for conversion speed or current consumption. The module is designed for use with a large variety of microcontrollers with different voltage requirements. This module is well-suited for high-altitude ballooning and has been used with great success in that role.

The X-Band Motion Detector’s sensor is a common component in security systems and automatic door openers and can detect movements within a room, yard, or even on the other side of a wall. The X-Band Motion Detector operates in the X-band frequency, at 10.525 GHz and indicates detected movements with oscillations in its high/low output. Sensitivity is manually adjustable with a potentiometer, offering direct line of sight detection from roughly 8 to slightly over 30 ft (~2.4 to 9+ m).

Melexis 90217 Hall-Effect Sensor

Parallax has worked with the Melexis 90217 sensor in applications including CNC milling machine spindle speed measurement and feedback on motor RPM. With the CNC milling machine it reliably measured the top spindle speed of 7,500 RPM. This is a cost-effective and highly functional hall-effect sensor. The Melexis 90217 is designed to be used with a bias magnet (#605-00006) south facing the back (non-marked) side of the IC. With a single Hall plate, this sensor is immune to common rotary alignment problems. Very easy to interface with all microcontrollers.
