Dynamic Ultra Micro Hardness Tester
DUH-210/DUH-210S
-
A new evaluation system for measuring the material strength of micro regions, such as semiconductors, LSI, ceramics, hard disks, vapor deposited films, and thin coating layers, not addressed by previous hardness testers. It can also be used to evaluate the hardness of plastics and rubbers. This instrument uniquely measures dynamic indentation depth, not the indentation after the test. This in turn permits measurement of very thin films and surface (treatment) layers that are impossible to measure with conventional methods. Additionally, this same method supplies the data needed to calculate elastic modulus on the test specimens.

Ultrasonic Fatigue Testing System
USF-2000A
-
The USF-2000A implements materials fatigue testing at 20 kHz. Consequently, it is possible to evaluate 109 to 1010 order fatigue strength, where it had been difficult to obtain data before. Also, data for 107 cycles can be obtained in about ten minutes.

Application Specific LC System
Reducing Sugar Analysis System
-
The Nexera reducing sugar analysis system uses Shimadzu’s unique post-column boric acid-arginine fluorescence derivatization method. Unlike the refractive index detectors and evaporative light scattering detectors (ELSD) commonly used for sugar analysis, this system reduces the effects of impurities and offers both high sensitivity and a wide dynamic range. As a result, sugars contained in samples can be analyzed simultaneously, without dilution even when there are significant concentration differences.

Metabolites Method Package Suite
-
This suite allows comprehensive analysis of over 1900 metabolites without the need for investigation of separation conditions, MRM optimization or parameter settings. The range of metabolites spans both hydrophilic and hydrophobic compounds, including amino acids, short-chain fatty acids, sugars, nucleotides, bile acids, and lipids. The suite consists of five LC/MS/MS Method Packages including ready-to-use methods for the LCMS-8050/8060 series, the LC/MS/MS MRM Library for Phospholipid Profiling, the Smart Metabolites Database™ for GC/MS(GC/MS/MS), and a Multi-omics Analysis Package. The Multi-omics Analysis Package included in this product supports not only regular analysis but also large volume data analysis and interpretation. The Multi-omics Analysis Package includes metabolic pathways and other contour maps corresponding to the Method Packages. This makes it easy to visualize fluctuations in the quantitative values of metabolites across metabolic pathways. Data filtering functions and statistical analysis can be applied to the network of compound relationships, providing a total solution for metabolite analysis.

TG/DTA Simultaneous Measuring Instrument
DTG-60 Series
-
This instrument varies the sample temperature in accordancewith a program, and simultaneously measures the change inmass of the sample (TG) and the temperature differencebetween the sample and a standard substance (DTA). An analytical balance mechanism (Roberval mechanism) offers high reproducibility and allows worry-free operation even for measuring sample weights. Two models are available for different maximum measurement temperature requirements-the DTG-60 (max. 1,100 °C) and the DTG-60H (max. 1,500 °C). Corresponding DTG-60A and DTG-60AH models with a built-in autosampler are also available for measuring up to 24 samples automatically.

Trace Moisture Analysis System
-
Analyzing moisture, and how much of it, is critical to the performance of petroleum products, as well as infrastructure and product integrity. For example, moisture in petrochemical feedstock can cause pipelines and valves to freeze, as well as poison some catalysts. One popular method used to analyze for moisture is Karl Fischer Titration (KFT). KFT has a wide dynamic range but has difficulty in measuring relatively low amounts of moisture. In addition, there are the well-known problems of side reactions and known interferences.

Improving The Data Integrity Of Spectrometers
-
Data integrity refers to the completeness of data, with nothing missing or inconsistent. In other words, not only the data itself but also the metadata (the results of work that require human intervention, such as specifying conditions and analyzing analysis data) must be presented in a visible form, and verified together with the data. This is achieved by the Report Set.
