Architecture Checker - CAST Software
Analyzing the structural quality of complex, multi-tier, multi-technology applications is a monstrous task yet crucial to ensure systems don't fail. Enterprise architects need a reliable, automated solution to enforce architectures the ensure efficiency and stability of business critical applications.

AIP - CAST Software
CAST Application Intelligence Platform (AIP) is an enterprise-grade software quality analysis and measurement solution designed to analyze multi-tiered, multi-technology applications for technical vulnerabilities and adherence to architectural and coding standards. The intelligence generated by CAST AIP has many uses:*Provides a bottom-up view of technical debt and imparting software engineering advice to the application development teams supporting these complex systems.*Insight into risks associated with upgrade of software packages, ability to automatically document complex, legacy systems.*Provides real-time information needed to improve application health and development team performance

AFP - CAST Software
CAST Automated Function Points (AFP) capability is an automatic function points counting method based on the rules defined by the International Function Point User Group (IFPUG). CAST automates this manual counting process by using the structural information retrieved by source code analysis, database structure and transactions. CAST AFP generates three types of counts:*Added Function Points: Function Points identified from the functions that are added by the enhancement efforts.*Modified Function Points: Function Points counted because existing function is changed during the enhancement project.*Deleted Function Points: Function Points counted for functions deleted during the project.

CAST Software
Robustness is an indication of the likelihood that an application will incur defects, corrupt data or completely fail in production. Often referred to as "resilience", CAST's Robustness measure is based on industry best practices around algorithmic and control flow complexity, controlled data access at an architectural level, architectural object-oriented design, error and exception handling, and the level of coupling and inter-dependency. The Robustness measure also evaluates the ease with which an application can be tested for defects. CAST expresses the Robustness Health Factor as an index from 1 to 4, with 4 indicating the highest level of stability.

CAST Software
CAST code analysis technology is geared towards solving two fundamental problems. The first is that most modern IT systems are comprised of thousands of components, built by multiple teams and dozens of developers. Measuring the software quality across these systems requires careful calibration across multiple technologies, releases and clear identification of application boundaries. The second issue is that the most insidious and dangerous defects come from the interactions between components of a complex system - that cannot be detected by code analysis tools deployed at the individual developer level.

CAST Software
The 'greenness' of software has been difficult to measure. Software's environmental effect is based on how efficiently it carry out intended actions, and how robust it is in handling errors without incurring outages. CAST's Green IT Index is a composite of selected programming best practices that significantly impact the efficiency and robustness of your applications.
