The Micro FT is a patented reciprocating refractive scan interferometer. It can be used for a very compact, high throughput spectrometer. The current design is optimized for maximum throughput for commercially available high sensitivity Thermal IR detectors. It is also the heart of our Model 102 and 402 FT-IR/NIR portable spectrometer, and was also used previously in its predecessor, the Model 101.
Each PhaseCam laser interferometer employs Dynamic Interferometry® technology to acquire measurement data in less than 30 microseconds. Because acquisition time is so short, the instruments are insensitive to vibration and air turbulence, enabling use in difficult environments such as production floors, clean rooms and environmental testing chambers. The Turbo FT is a patented, rotary scan interferometer which can achieve scan rates of 10-1000 scans per second. Also, due to its smooth, continuous scan, it can be run without the laser reference channel normally required in an FT-IR spectrometer. Its small size, ruggedness, speed, and very low power requirements make it an ideal candidate for high vibration environments both in the lab and out in the field.
